I love how really old horses go gray in lines on their face. It's harder to see on oldies with white markings to begin with but on a pure brown guy like this you can see the pattern.Mylute wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2020 9:55 pm Here's an apparently 36 year old horse at Lex Stud. Google translate isn't helping with the name.

We should start a thread for keeping up with the mega-seniors. I know Japan had a 40 year old pass last year, which is more than likely the longest-lived thoroughbred on record (that should be substantiated more).
Also..I'd like to know if Roxie's Ringer is still around. He got the title of oldest (known) in the USA after Prospect Point died. I was hoping TDN would do a follow up on him.

Doneraile Court, who I was worried about due to his age and the status of Prestige Stallions, has been reitred to Old Friends. Hurray!

Haha!! Shadai’s gift is original socks! Awesome! Shame Suave Richard retires so last minute! But at least they had time for a poster!

It's interesting that 'Chrome has no halter on. I'm guessing that the stallion is not hard to handle in his stall, and will let his groom halter him when needed. Not every horse is so compliant.

Chrome certainly appears to have found his moment of zen in the Far East. As for the halter- pretty sure you can just open a jar Mrs. Pasture's cookies by the stall door, and the halter can be placed within a few seconds.

Apparently he returned to training in August 2019.

The people at Arrow (goes by their company name) have a Twitter feed. The other day they posted a short video of Chrome getting Mrs. Pastures cookies.CorridorZ75 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2020 8:38 pm Chrome certainly appears to have found his moment of zen in the Far East. IIRC from the Shadai vids, most of their stallions go without halters in their stalls too... Unless they're being prepped to be shown or for, you know, "work."BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2020 2:48 pm It's interesting that 'Chrome has no halter on. So apparently One Mean Man (Mizzen Mast), who entered stud last year at Swifty Farms in Indiana, returned to training in late 2019 and has since ran twice, 19 days apart, at Fair Grounds. He has finished towards the back of the field both times.
He was in for a claim of $40K both times, and wasn't claimed either time. He reportedly bred 6 mares in 2019.

Kate Hunter is visiting studs for their stallion parades, today is Yushun... where she posted a pic of a familiar name from their cemetery. I had no idea he'd ended up in Japan! #TIL

Not a fan of bringing stallions back to the races and certainly not one that hasn't won a race since 2016 or placed 2nd since 2017. Also not sure why he was in this race at all, he has never shown ability on the dirt.Mylute wrote: ↑Mon Feb 10, 2020 4:41 pm So apparently One Mean Man (Mizzen Mast), who entered stud last year at Swifty Farms in Indiana, returned to training in late 2019 and has since ran twice, 19 days apart, at Fair Grounds. Lurkey McLurker and Tachyon, if you are able to get any news about Chrome, please share it here. There are unconfirmed reports circulating on Facebook that he is sick, that he has not been eating and has lost weight. Here's a link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/486086998981726/

One guy stated that he was not shown during one stallion show and that they are postponing when he can go to the shed. They also stated that Japan's climate probably has something to do with it- they have snow one minute and then a lot of rain the next, and so on (sounds like the South lol). He also said he's recovering.Ridan_Remembered wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2020 7:42 am Lurkey McLurker and Tachyon, if you are able to get any news about Chrome, please share it here.
