Nah someone just messed up with entering the name.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 21, 2019 2:30 pm I was wondering if Korean racing, like China, doesn't like horse names with any reference to war or violence.
I've seen quite a few horses bought for Hong Kong racing that had their names changed because their original moniker had words like War, Battle, Revolt or Rebellion. IIRC, the War Front colt Lines of Battle became Helene Superstar (and a gelding?) when he was exported to Hong Kong.
The Chinese racing Powers-That-Be really seem to prefer names that are happy...and communistically respectable. No rebels or fighters or freedom activists, please.

Coolmore 2020 stud fees:
https://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing ... llion-fees
No new stallions, feels like that is a first in a very long time. Maybe 2007 was the last time Ashford didn't have a new stallion.
Pharoah's fee to be announced at a later time.

I think it more to do with Chinese culture and the fact they believe certain words and colors are "lucky" and like Japan, the owners will often use the same first word for a lot of their horses...Agnes... Fusaichi.... Danon...etcFlanders wrote: ↑Mon Oct 21, 2019 3:46 pmNah someone just messed up with entering the name.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 21, 2019 2:30 pm I was wondering if Korean racing, like China, doesn't like horse names with any reference to war or violence.

Symboli Kris S has been pensioned. A US bred who dominated the Stayer scene in the early 2000s winning back to back Arima Kinens. Japan Cup winner Epiphaneia continues his legacy in the shed & G1 winner Le Vent Se Leve continues it on the track. Will miss his big eared babies!

He did a great job for the Roberto line as a racer as well as a sire in Japan.
Epiphaneia(JPN) has got off to a flying strat at stud.

It's not official yet, but it looks like Arc victor Waldgeist won't be coming over for the BC Turf.
Arc hero Waldgeist set for retirement after toppling Enable at Longchamp
Waldgeist looks unlikely to be among the European contingent bound for the Breeders' Cup at Santa Anita next week, with the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner almost certainly set to bow out on that glorious winning note.
Also from the article:
But speaking in Deauville on Tuesday, Fabre confirmed that finding Waldgeist a prominent place at stud was the priority.
"We're talking to the good [stud] farms and the wish is to retire him," said Fabre. "Nobody is really keen to think about another race at this stage."

I've been seeing a lot of videos and pictures of Force the Pass on Facebook and I've gotta say he's probably the most handsome boy going to stud next year.
Pretty eyes, pretty blaze, really muscled. Apparently a lot of personality too.
