He has 2 SWs from 2 crops. He'll probably end up in a regional market if they even bring him back from Australia.
As for Medal Count its weird to give up on a son of Dynaformer when his first crop is only 2. I mean you'd think they would have known he was most likely not going to sire a ton of 2yo winners.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Spendthrift phase out their "Share the Upside" program. If they don't keep over half of their new stallions beyond 2 or 3 years, what's the point of marketing a lifetime breeding right?

Danza gone too. Per an email I saw, Danza and Medal Count will still be owned by Spendthrift while moved to a Regional market.

I know Hill N Dale has a history of buying broodmares/fillies in training from Coolmore, but if you wanted a classy cast off, Ballydoyle has actual group winners all with incredible pedigrees available at the year end horses-in-training sales, rather than a horse marketed as 'almost a group winner'. I guess being out of a granddaughter of Urban Sea really set him apart?Mylute wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2019 3:55 pm Lost Treasure to Stand at Hill 'N Dale in 2020

Also, the fact that Sikura describing him as a 'fast looking' horse is actually used as a selling point is hilarious.

Glad Medal Count will land somewhere and will have some limited prospects.Retrospectiv wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2019 12:51 amDanza gone too. Per an email I saw, Danza and Medal Count will still be owned by Spendthrift while moved to a Regional market.
Whether it be 'share the upside'...or any other breeder risk minimization program, what's the point if breeders sell stallions to Turkey, Korea,
South American, or a regional market after two or three season. Once a stallion farm has bailed on a stallion, breeders take a beating at the auctions on
all offspring there after.
You want a program that will help breeders and motivate them to use a stallion, particularly a mid-range or lower stallions,
the stud farms should guarantee that the stallion will be supported for a minimum of five years. That would be sharing the up & down side!

Apparently Danza is off to Ohio somewhere.
BH a few weeks late breaking the Bodemeister to Turkey story.

Yeah I know but I hadn't seen any American news outlet pick it up. It was only announced by Turkish news outlets that I saw.Retrospectiv wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2019 8:09 pm Apparently Danza is off to Ohio somewhere.

Arazi is looking good as ever at age 30. He's been a pensioner at Stockwell Stud in Australia since 2011.

Wow, he is much uglier than I realized. I really like his pedigree, though, and I hope he does well in Japan. I don't think the US market ever really gave him much of a shot.tachyon wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2019 11:30 pm New Year’s Day has arrived at Shadai Stallion Station this morning.

I mean, how much of a shot did he warrant? He won the BC Juvenile but never raced at 3. It's great that he got a horse like Maximum Security, but I think it was mostly the Wests who supported him. I guess Shadai wants to get in on the Street Cry legacy, and he will be a good outcross for all of those Sunday Silence mares, and with King Kamehameha and Deep Impact gone, there's about 300 top class mares that need new matches in 2020.mariasmon wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2019 11:42 pmWow, he is much uglier than I realized. Probably the best two year old of all time, or tied with Johannesburg.Miss Woodford wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2019 11:15 pm Arazi is looking good as ever at age 30. He's been a pensioner at Stockwell Stud in Australia since 2011.
