lol
I think that is very common, at least I feel the same, when looking back over the past 10 years or so of Derby prep winners, injured, whisked off to stud. I'll read the list of winners and be like "Oh I forgot that horse even existed."

IIRC Nadal has a pedigree that Japan will appreciate--isn't he by Blame? He was a big horse and obviously went unsound but whether it was structural or just nagging, no one knows. I think he'll be well supported in Japan. Query: He and Charlatan (Speightstown) were from the same crop and trained by Baffert. Nadal went missing after the Arkansas Derby; Charlatan was off about 8 months before winning the Malibu (7F) as a prep for the Saudi Cup (9F) where he punked Knicks Go before being tagged by Missrhiff. Which is the more attractive prospect? And add in Knicks Go, a great campaign but by an uncommercial sire from a line of less commercial sires (Awesome Again).
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

I know who he is. I was just saying I agree its easy to forgot about horses that don't race long. Especially ones that don't race past the Triple Crown or who don't do anything afterwards. Sometimes I go back and look at old race charts for races and I'm like, Oh I completely forgot about that horse. Then I try to find out what they did later in life if possible.
I completely understand why Shadai bought Nadal, the Kris S. line has done very well in Japan.

Black Caviar was served by both Extreme Choice and I Am Invincible in 2021, likely missed to the first, and with a extraordinary late LSD of New Years Eve I genuinely hope she missed to the second.

Thanks for the update! :D
Jolie’s Shinju(JPN)(by Jolie's Halo), the 2009 Singapore champion, was the first Japanese-bred horse to win the ''Horse of the Year'' title in foreign country.

Going thru the '21 matings and seeing if any of the resulting foals are named yet.. this one is. A filly, named La Perfect Town. ;)
However, Perfect La Comete's 2018 colt is a full sibling and is named Speightspercomete.
