yes, mariasmon.
Chelston and Chelston Ireland Tabor's farm. Orpendale is a Magnier farm.
Coolmore also has many farms in Ireland like Storm Bloodstock, Matrix, Premier Bloodstock or Liberty Bloodstock.
But when horse bred by some Syndicate it means horse was bred in Tipperary at Coolmore stud or in Kentucky at Ashford.

I don't believe that Chelston, Orpendale, Kerry Bloodstock, etc. are actual farms (with a physical location), but rather separate business entities. I'm open to correction on that matter.Twingo wrote:yes, mariasmon.

The current listed owner for Turbulent Descent is Stamar, Zaki and Meditol. Sounds like some kind of pharmaceuticals. That one cracked me up.

In case anyone wanted to be more confused, Southern Bloodstock is also Coolmore.
Only when you try to decode Coolmore do you realize how nice it is that Sheikh Mo just decided to go with "Darley" for his homebreds

Nevertheless, by any manner of measurement, Medaglia D'Oro would not be classified as "only" a filly sire.swale1984 wrote:I'm looking at earnings; his fillies generate more earnings in fewer starts:TBird wrote:
I think Medaglia D'Oro is already on the map. It's hard to envision him as only a filly sire when he has sired such G1 winning colts as Warrior's Reward, Violence and Lochte and other G1 performing colts, Micromanage and Al Khali.
Rachel Alexandra- 19 starts 3.5 million
Marketing Mix 21 starts 2 million
Plum Pretty 12 starts 1.6 million
of the colts you mentioned, only Al Khali has earned more than a million and it took him at least 2x as many starts to get that.
I didn't say that. I said his fillies earn more in fewer starts, meaning it takes his colts LONGER to do so. To me, it indicates that his fillies have had a bit more talent than his colts have. In addition, each of the fillies I mentioned have more starts than Violence.

Taking into account the average earnings per start for colts & geldings and fillies & mares shows results from starters.
It excludes how many colts were born or how many fillies were foaled.
There maybe a tendency to have more fillies than colts or vice versa.
I wouldn't use the average earnings per start to assess the merits of an individual yearling.
I think Hip 31, a colt by Medaglia D'Oro out of Life At Ten looks awfully good on paper and has a good chance to be a successful race horse.

Really surprised no one has commented on Beholder's and Into Mischief's half sister by Curlin here.
Is it because Leslie's Lady isn't the most consistent of producers?
Also, what's with Coolmore's obsession with War Front? After all, aren't they in partnership with all of Joseph Allen's European stock as-is?

I haven't received my catalogs this year. Has Keeneland quit sending out catalogs? I usually get something in the mail that asks me to check off the sales I'm interested in getting catalogs for. I don't recall getting that this year.
I've been on the Keeneland website this morning and I don't see a link or anyplace to request catalogs. If anyone knows of such a place could you please post a link or direct me to it.
Thanks

Fasig Tipton is the company that asks you to return a postcard. Keeneland puts you on a mailing list which you reconfirm online once a year (maybe in January?). The KeeSep catalogues arrived here in mid-August, You should probably call if you want them to put you back on their mailing list.PONYRCR wrote:I haven't received my catalogs this year. Aside from some of the big pedigrees, I'm excited for hip 502 (Uncle Mo, 1/2 to Uncaptured). The 2-year-old 1/2 sister has been working up a storm.
And some personal favourite mares-
727 (Quality Road-Inish Glora)
1594 (Fort Prado-La Rocca)
2595 (Grand Slam-Against the Sky)

I have a bunch of F-T postcards sitting in front of me to mail. It's what reminded me that I haven't gotten my Keeneland catalogs. I never got the online mailing list reconfirmation request from Keeneland this year. I've gotten it every year for over a decade. I've emailed Keeneland this morning so hopefully I'll get back on the mailing list.TBird wrote:Fasig Tipton is the company that asks you to return a postcard. I'd love to see a photo of Pepper's Pride's Malbu Moon colt. He was a cute baby, but a lot can change in a year.
