Guess we need a 2017 Foal Names thread, although it'd probably disappear into the back pages before we need to use it again, lol.

Always had a soft spot for this guy, so glad to see that Henrythenavigator is still standing at stud (after leaving Coolmore), looks like in South America.

According to his profile on Racing Post he is now in Russia, though it doesn't say which farm. He must still shuttle to Chile though?

He really did throw some nice horses from his first crop. It's hard to say if the progeny quality fell as the years passed or if support for him just dried up, since his best runners were all born in 2010. I always got him confused with Duke of Marmalade - both were outstanding runners and decent sires, but not up to Coolmore standards.

Oh thanks, I missed that note about him standing in Russia. I've been on the lookout for him ever since the lads at Coolmore said they were entertaining offers for him several years ago. He disappeared from their roster shortly after. Wish it were easier to track them down.

Not misspelled. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thebes,_Egypt But it doesn't really roll off one's tongue.

It could be a play on Prince of Thieves, the Robin Hood movie, along with its ancient Egyptian capital reference. I like it.

I know it's not misspelled. I'm just saying, it not being misspelled is maybe the silver lining. Maybe.
