Not sure where to post this, but dual Oaks winner Dancing Rain sold in foal to Frankel for $6,869,080 at Tattersalls today. Sheikh Mo was the buyer.

Not crazy about the 3x3 inbreeding to Danehill that the resultant foal will have, but she's a little out of my price range anyway...

Lol at Indy taking a nip on the glove. Old guy still has spunk. Hard to believe his going turn 25 in less than a month. Where has the time gone. I still remember seeing him in the Hollywood Park walking ring as a 2-year-old before the Hollywood Futurity. Where did the time go. Sigh.BlindLucky wrote:That appears to be his favorite thing... stick his head all the way out and chew on whatever's in front of him. I love this guy so much and could not be more grateful he's had such a long, happy life on the farm.
Thank you for posting the photo.

So I heard I am in Ohio at Fair Winds Farm standing for $3,000. I will get that stud fee up when I produce some good looking winners.

After Market has been sold to Turkey, I'm sad to report. The handsome son of Storm Cat and Tranquility Lake, who was standing at Lane's End, will now join a bunch other good stallions who have been shipped off to Turkey, like Victory Gallop, Dehere, Powerscourt, Lion Heart, Cuvee and Yonaguska.

The TJK lost several of their old successful stallions in the last few years - Red Bishop died in August, Unaccounted For died in May, Okawango in 2012 Strike the Gold and West by West in 2011. All were in their 20s with the exception of Okawango (paddock accident). They need to find new blood to keep improving the breed over there.BaroqueAgain1 wrote:After Market has been sold to Turkey, I'm sad to report. The stallions over there are treated extremely well. I'm sure After Market will appreciate the wide open spaces.

Johannesburg(USA) only covered 24 mares this year.tachyon wrote:And today, Horai Akiko(JPN), 2011F. Johannesburg(USA) x Horai Sunday(JPN) by Sunday Silence(USA), won the G2 Daily Hai Nisai Stakes 1600m turf in record time beating the boys. She is undefeated 3 for 3!!tachyon wrote: Johannesburg has already sired twenty-two 2yo winners so far, ten of whom are out of Sunday Silence-line mares.(Sunday Silence 4, Agnes Tachyon 4, Special Week 1, Bubble Gum Fellow 1).
Japanese breeding has always been looking for stallions who are compatible with the Sunday Silence blood.
King Kamehameha, Symboli Kris S and Kurofune are doing very well.
But they need a new star.
It may be a bit too early to tell, but Johannesburg does look like a promissing candidate.
He has the speed.
