I think it's the Pulpit in them. Corinthian was a bit...umm...interesting on the track. I remember saying I'd never take a high-strung mare to Corinthian. You're just asking for trouble, IMO.Northport wrote:Is Tapit known for having a poor temperament?
I know I've read that that was largely the reason for Mahubah being bred to Fair Play...they were hoping to balance out the high strung Fair Play with a more balanced disposition. Look at his progeny, and a lot of them are from Rock Sand mares.

It's often easier to get a mare in foal first cycle off the track than it is a month or two later when she's had to deal with changes in her care and routine.RuffiantoRags wrote:How could they have possibly gotten a race mare, 2 weeks off the track, to have a normal breedable cycle to be bred? Maidens are hard enough to get cycles going no less a mare with a mixture of drugs from being on the track. I will be curious to hear if she actually gets in foal so soon.
FWIW, reproductive vetwork is very precise. If Egg Drop didn't have a breedable follicle she wouldn't have been covered, especially not by a busy stallion like Tapit.
As for your assertion about Egg Drop's "mixture of drugs from being on the track" I will have to defer to your inside knowledge on that.

Oh please let them do something cute if the War Front x Take Charge Lady is a filly. Like Bren Gun Gal or Rosie the Riveter or Molly Pitcher (I know that ones taken, haha). But I'd love to see something like that.

She should have already had a War Front something this year, but no foal reports from Ye Olde Coolmore Ashford so far.bare it all wrote:Oh please let them do something cute if the War Front x Take Charge Lady is a filly. I wonder if Cavalry Charge is taken in the US. Or even in Europe, since War Fronts do well over there... I didn't know that Coolmore owned Take Charge Ladybare it all wrote:Oh please let them do something cute if the War Front x Take Charge Lady is a filly. One of her handlers noted that the 15-year-old mare “looks terrific” and “she doesn’t carry much weight” when in foal. Dappled out and looking great, Take Charge Lady has a War Front yearling filly that was born on April 7, 2013. She did not produce a foal in 2014 and has been bred to War Front this season.

Glen Hill Farm says Act Quickly (1/2 to Marketing Mix) and Bridal Memories (1/2 to Winter Memories) will be going to Artie Schiller soon. AQ has a Super Saver colt on the ground and BM has a KJ filly.

Ginger Sea (SAF), who just foaled a Hat Trick colt for Team Valor, will go to Animal Kingdom. TV says 92.6% of the mares AK covered in AUS are in foal.
