I don't think Mendelssohn is as pretty as Seahenge. That's not to say he's not correct or a nice overall package (I don't know one way or the other, but assume he is due to the yearling purchase price). But Seahenge caught my eye a lot more on the track. When the conformation photos all come out, I'm going to bet that Sioux Nation will be the most striking of the G1 sons. He is just a gorgeous creature.

To each their own, but yeah.

Speaking of Big C, though, he does have a new conformation photo. I much prefer it to the previous one.

I wish greys stayed that way instead of turning white. "Big C" is really quite beautiful at this point in his life.

He has reached a nice point in the greying-out process but, when I first became a fan of the colt, he looked pitch black. I know there were some stray grey hairs beginning to show on his face and in his tail, but when he was sprinting down the Ascot green, he sure looked black. ;) :D

Blackity-black. He does have black in his line, along with a lot of grays.

Caravaggio is smaller than he looks in pics. They have him listed 15.3½ hh (which, in Coolmorespeak, probably means he's more like 15.2).

If I were a breeder, especially one interested in breeding a good turf horse, I think I'd rather have a 15.3-hand, balanced Scat Daddy than a heavy-on-the-forehand, 17+-hand hulking Scat Daddy who was retired after, what, four months of racing with leg/foot 'issues.' :P 8-)

Looks like more than a few people thought he was a good prospect.

I agree. The breed-shaping stallion, Northern Dancer, was also a compact 15.2 inches, and most of his get were like him in type. A 17-hand Thoroughbred used to be the exception. Now it seems to be closer to the norm, and I do think that contributes to unsoundness.

For all that he's done; he looks like he's been very well cared for. Is he on the smaller side height wise? He has positive attitude written on his little mug too. I read his charts and his history is not very common these days for an entire horse. I hope he does very well in his new career.

I'm a little surprised they chose to use this pic of him for advertising :|

It is a strange choice. He's leaning and and has a weird expression on his face.

Looks like he just got up and hasn't had his coffee with two sugars yet.

Great description! LOL.

The horse looks like he's about to tip over.

As a dog show person, I look at these and instantly know how bad the other photos were.
