Indy still has the look of eagles.......what a grand old man he is; I hope he enjoyed his cake!

Lovely article, also - what a career he's had. His BC Classic still gives me chills...

I love it when someone visits the stud farms and puts the pictures on Twitter, especially the new stallions. Hope you enjoy them too.

I was always bummed that they retired Creative Cause so early with really no reason given, but wow is he stunning. Carpe Diem looks just like his sire. Giant's Causeway has some nice looking predecessors.

I don't remember hearing that Hampton Court was shuttling here, and at a reasonable fee of $6,000 Live Foal. I hope he does well here.

Maybe it's the photo, but Shackleford's front hooves look really tall (long?)...almost like a Saddlebred's.
Lots of fine horseflesh there. Thanks for posting the pix.

if i remember, he ran in the preakness then was retired at the end of that year? i just assumed he had some nagging issues that they were tired of fighting, but of course i can't prove that.

They never said why they retired him or why he didn't race again after the Preakness. After the Preakness they said they were bypassing the Belmont but that he was healthy and happy. They were going to give him a little break and come back in the Swaps or a turf race, either the La Jolla or Del Mar Derby. Obviously that didn't happen because he never raced again. I don't know that they said anything else. I think there were rumors going around that he had some problems.

I've seen nearly all the new stallions in Kentucky this year and he's one of my favorites. I'm hoping he gets a better shot than some other reverse shuttlers that have come here in the past few years.

Shackleford looks like he has pads on his front, or something corrective.
I think Summer Front is gorgeous. And Creative Cause looks huge. How big is he?

Not terribly familiar with Hampton Court, but he is a very attractive individual.

Oh, look. Actual photographic evidence that Risque Remarque is alive and well and not hidden away in some back shed.

(I kid, but Calumet was so secretive about his acquisition--I think it was only known because his previous owner announced it on Facebook--and quiet on him in general that their owning him seemed almost more internet rumour than fact up to an article on Calumet actually mentioned him a couple of months ago. I can understand why maybe a serious racing operation didn't want to talk too much about their colour breeding experiment, but it was a tiny bit weird.)
