FWIW, JC lists Scalding at Pin Oak and they're also the listed owner of Pine Needles. Perhaps they are standing him there as a private stallion? The new owners of Pin Oak were doing some shopping at the fall/winter bloodstock and mixed sales.

nothing in her registry yet. i'm assuming only Gainesway has submitted their stallion reports at this point (them and the random farms with their random stallions that breed 3 mares a year)

Where did you see he was retired? I haven't been able to find anything.

I misremembered... I linked the thread but didn't actually go and look at it again. I just spent a lot of time looking and couldn't find anything either... :( I guess we hope he has a RMB submitted. Sorry for getting your hopes up.

Tapit seems very popular. Not surprising, but I wonder if more breeders are sending mares to him NOW, as he is getting up there in age. The time when he will no longer be available could be coming soon.
Get yer Tapit while you can. ;)

I think it's just standing out because Gainesway is the only major farm that's reported. This doesn't even come close to what he got 5 years ago.

Is it likely that Gainesway is keeping Tapit's book around 100 to help keep their priceless stallion healthy and vigorous?

They've always limited his book and as he got older they limited it even more. His upper limit used to be around 140, though they might have allowed around 10 more than that a few years. It makes me appreciate an operation when they limit a stallion's book and don't use them as an ATM.

It's insane how much some studs breed like into mischief or goldencents. I'm surprised into mischief is still going(as in still showing interest in breeding)

Laoban was proof that the farms don't care if the stallion isn't showing interest. they'll find a way.
