Provided all things go well, Goodnight Olive has several breedings left in her. This angry veracity against Stewart for sending her to Seize the Grey, one of the few sons of Arrogate at stud, is honestly kind of ridiculous. I feel the same about Repole, I can whine and moan about our self-appointed commissioner all day, but I'm not going to complain about who he breeds his mares to, or who he chooses not to breed his mares to. Stewart is sending her to a colt who, as far as we're aware, retired sound. As long as he's not sending her to a 3-times raced Into Mischief son with the knees of a crippled grandma then I really don't care who she's bred to lmaoEssential Quality wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 2:54 am I'm not a fan of Stewart at all because he's a a** but he seriously needs to stop going by just the reports and 'pedigree' and people who probably want more then more money and following the hype with new horses. The one thing with "Liklihood of producing a stakes horse" is just no.
You could have bred Ruffian to Secretariat, obviously ignoring the inbreeding there, and there'd still be a chance that horse would be no more than a allowance.
Itl'l probably never happen because for some reason Stewart started his own stupid a** feud with repole but sending Goodnight Olive to Uncle Mo would be a better choice by far, shame too because I'd taken Uncle Mo over Into Mischief any and everyday.

Whole heartedly agree. I hope one of Arrogates sons will continue his success as a sire. I think it's great that someone dares to send a successful mare like Goodnight Olive to an unproven stallion rather than sending her to Into Mischief for the rest of their lives.Nenikikamen23 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 2:04 pmProvided all things go well, Goodnight Olive has several breedings left in her. I particularly don't understand being upset that a high-profile mare is sent to a successful racehorse but unproven stallion because it could result in a horse who wouldn't win more than an allowance. To that, I point out the numerous valuable broodmares bred to high-profile, proven stallions whose foals didn't win more than claimers, provided they won at all. It's a game of chance and I'm all for Stewart putting one of his best towards what could turn out to be Arrogate's heir.stelladaniella wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2024 10:21 amWhole heartedly agree. To be clear, I never said I was upset that Goodnight Olive is being sent to Sieze the Gray. I said I was surprised by it and I like to see them sent to proven stallions for their first mating (I forgot she had already been sent to NTT), but again stated that she's not my mare and that it does make things interesting.
I agreed that it was better than sending her to Into Mischief.
