Proxy is a first-year stallion and nothing shows up for them.

Darby Dan
Bee Jersey - 98 (53)
Was curious if he was going to see a jump. While he doesn't have any GSWs, he has a pretty good SW%. Equibase/Equineline are down though so all I can see is Bloodhorse. I'm guessing he is sitting around 6% SWs to foals of racing age, from 59 starters he has 6 SWs(10.2%).

Great value at 5k, has a deep female family.

added Scamshit.

i like how they made a bunch of TikTok's being like "ooooh now that our king Into Mischief is older, we'll restrict his books" but apparently what that means is breeding less than 200 mares, and the number only went up from last year (and there are still reports to be submitted).
BIG drop for the third year sires in Known Agenda (166 in his first year) and Rock Your World (216 in his first year).

Since this thread is about numbers....

I recently finished Horse Trader: Robert Sangster and the Rise and Fall of the Sport of Kings. I recommend it, especially for the details on the horses. But reading about the beginnings of the legal con that commercial breeding is today made me want to scream. This about made the eyes roll out of my head:

"...Be My Guest, perhaps with a similar sublime grin on his face, had covered ninety-seven mares! The press had found out and John Magnier had taken a severe amount of stick for over-breeding the stallion and breaking the guidelines ‘followed by breeders for centuries’ – no more than fifty-five mares, even in the 1970s, for fear that the breed became ‘unbalanced’. John said he was sorry, that he would not do so again, that he had not meant it."

Sorry, my a$$.

I just finished the book last night, and I have to second your reactions to the events from the late 70's into the 80's and beyond that so presciently foretold the breeding world we live in today! It all truly did start with Sangster, Magnier, O'Brien (Vincent, that is) and that whole gang that started it all! Made me pretty disgusted as well!

It IS a very good book, though, and I recommend it as well. My only disappointment with it is that it's so "old". It was published back in 1992. Robert Sangster and Vincent O'Brien lived for 12 and 17 more years after that, respectively, and John and Susan Magnier are still very much alive and going strong. Susan is Vincent O'Brien's daughter by the way, which I honestly didn't know. I would have liked to see the narrative carried out to at least learning about the entrance of Aiden O'Brien into the game. I still don't know when he first appeared or where he came from.

Anyway, it's a good read and certainly very enlightening!

Thanks for the re-post, Flanders. It was only a month ago that you originally put it up, but I must have missed it because I honestly don't remember seeing it before. It tells me what I wanted to know, so thanks again!

Known Agenda and Rock Your World both seem to have tanked at spendthrift this year. Won't be surprised at all if Basin is one who poofs off there roster for 202t

of course he wouldn't do it again. very rarely his stallions cover 95 mares, now it's upwards of 150. there's a difference! :P

idk about Basin. check the "Who is going to move" thread. i think still not having his first runners might save him for a while, his numbers are very similar to Coal Front's (who now has his first 3yos - this one i doubt gets the permission slip another year). he just never really bred many mares anyways.

added Hill 'N' Dale. big drop for Charlatan, idk why but even though it's his 3rd year i assumed they'd be able to keep his book high. no chance World of Trouble stays for another year and i won't be surprised if they pension Ghostzapper.

I'm interested to see what Loggins got when first-year sire numbers are out.
