He must be quiet with no bit or stallion chain but his feet make this pic look fake, something about the light/colouring?

I think a lot of the Unbridled line are pretty quiet, to the point they are kind. They might have quirks, like Empire Maker did when he was racing, but even he is nice from what I've heard.

Shaman Ghost's photo looks like it's had a lot of 'work.' Like he was outlined and then dropped into that background. No shadow whatsoever?
Royal Mo's photo has a fake-looking shadow, but at least he has one....sort of.

Agreed I've posted a couple but my biggest pet peeve is (to start with) any photo where they have cropped out the lead. What else have they done to the photo?

I don't mind cropping out the leads and whatnot, but my biggest pet peeves are
1. Heavily altering the background to where it looks horrendously fake (see Royal Mo or Proudinski)
2. Transparent cropped backgrounds (WinStar and Godolphin)
3. Those photos where the stallions are extremely uphill and slanted, and obviously fresh off the track.
Lane's End and Coolmore have the best, IMHO, as far as the US goes. Also Taylor Made.

Hideous photo. I don't know how anyone wants their stallions to be taken seriously when they post garbage like this. No one gives a shit if there are lead shanks or shadows in pictures. It looks like they cut him from another photo and pasted him onto another background. It looks like he is levitating off the ground...

Took another look at Shaman Ghost's photo...and I'm pretty sure it's a total composite.
The wall is from one photo, the grass from another, and the surface under the horse may be from a third.
Why?

I am going to ignore the cutting and pasting, although it’s hard to know how true to reality it is, and say Shaman Ghost is quite lovely and has filled out beautifully. I saw him in person at the Queen’s Plate and he was strikingly handsome.
I see Ghostzapper-Awesome Again in him, but he looks maybe a bit more leggier than them.

Always Dreaming is a very kind horse that I actually got to meet in person at Saratoga last year. He was in his stall and would go from taking a bite of food, coming over to be loved on, going back for a bite of food, back to being loved on. He melted my heart that day.

I wonder how much a kind temperament like that influences a breeder's choice of a stallion?
I know I'd prefer to have a racehorse who allows handling without biting after about 5 seconds, ala Justify.

Apparently I've been sleeping on Justify being a "nibbler", lol.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 26, 2018 8:06 pm I wonder how much a kind temperament like that influences a breeder's choice of a stallion?

I wish I could ignore the photoshop job and look at the horse. I can't, its honestly that bad to me. I don't think he looks bad but who knows when they edited the photo so much.Izvestia wrote: ↑Fri Oct 26, 2018 5:14 pm I am going to ignore the cutting and pasting, although it’s hard to know how true to reality it is, and say Shaman Ghost is quite lovely and has filled out beautifully. The photo is ridiculous which is a shame because Shaman Ghost looks like he is a very handsome horse with attractive conformation... but how off putting it is that his photo is such a joke.

Any of you stallion people out there lurking -- hire me. I can at least make photo shops look believable.
