Izvestia wrote:Why are the number of mares bred in 2 threads? It's not that interesting.......
Originally, these numbers of mares bred had been posted in this thread, but, ''2015 mares bred thread'' was created by Flanders after that.
I thought that the latter was going to be a great thread and I asked;

viewtopic.php?f=4&t=4113#p117115

viewtopic.php?f=4&t=4113&start=10#p117158

So I thought it would be better to duplicate in 2 threads, but...
If it annoyes you, I will delete my posts from one of them, of course. ;)

My vote is leave the info in both threads. It is interesting to me.
If, however, the lists seem too long for other readers, perhaps a short note in 'Stallion News' that you've posted new info in the 'Mares Bred' thread would work?

I don't know, sorry I am just cranky. It doesn't seem necessary to have it in both threads. One is clearly labelled "mares bred"...

I just figured this is more of a So-and-so got moved to New Jersey, or So-and-so is retired thread.
I actually use this thread to see what "News" is going on out there, that I may have missed. The lists clutter it. My opinion only.

Haha, I saw that woman post that and checked out her feed. She had a hundred separate tweets that said the same thing in response to almost everyone

Yeah I was LOLing to myself when I posted the photo... also that Twitter wackadoodle also claims/ed that she did a "weeklong" internship at Coolmore  ("didn't approve of things that happened there") AND went to Cornell AND worked with Dean Richardson of New Bolton AND "knows the family of Barbaro" who would've never sold him to stud.

The crazy, it defies quantification.

Giacomo to Oregon. This is a weird move. They want to boost breeding in Oregon. Send a stallion who is borderline not getting it done. Oh, the other Kentucky Derby winner you have standing there - who's interest has dropped because his foals are late developers. "People out here want the early maturing sprinters."
So tell me how sending Giacomo is exciting???
HOW does that attract breeders???

Maybe he has better stats than the rest of the Oregon stallions? There can't be that many up there. He isn't that good of a sire but he could be the best they have.

I was so annoyed I tweeted reasons at her why horses might stick out their tongues. (I almost never use twitter, so for me to reply is a pretty high level of annoyance.) I left it there, but I'm still getting replies days later. :o

Curlin to Mischief, an unraced half brother to champion Beholder and popular young sire Into Mischief, will debut at stud in 2016 at Rancho San Miguel in San Miguel, Calif.
http://www.drf.com/news/curlin-mischief ... ornia-2016

The article doesn't say why the colt never made it to the races, but since this well-bred colt sold for $300,000 as a yearling, I would suspect that he had an OK (if not spectacular) physical.
I guess that, even as an unraced horse, that pedigree makes him a candidate to be successful at stud. I hope the gamble pays off for Rancho San Miguel in a few years.

He must have been relatively sound a few weeks ago as he just sold for $20,000 at KeeNov as a 'racing or stallion prospect'.

Couple mares booked and they'll have him paid for already...Not much of a gamble ;)

RIP Tiago, very sad news.

That 1/2 brother to Beholder had a different name. Didn't Juddmonte own him? If it's the same horse, he had some sort of physical issues that kept him from racing. I think he was on and off unsound. Really doesn't need to be a stallion, imo.
