Thank you!!!! :D
Sunday Silence was such a handsome guy.
I believe that he ran three races at Santa Anita in 1989 -- ALW (March 2nd), San Felipe (March 19th) and Santa Anita Derby (April 8th)
Do you know when this photo was taken?
That photo was taken at Belmont during Belmont Stakes week.

That makes sense.
I was wondering why his handler held a #7 tag in this picture.
Sunday Silence started from #7 post in the 1989 Belmont Stakes.

Yes, I think it was likely taken on Belmont S. day, but I don't know for sure.

Some clips of 30yo Ishino Sunday. I like his tactic in the first video, approach slowly and try to attack fast.

Ishino Sunday is always a good looking horse!! 8-)
Of Sunday Silence's second crop, Ishino Sunday was called one of Sunday's ''Big Four'' along with Royal Touch, Dance in the Dark and Bubble Gum Fellow.

He was the first 3yo in history to win the G1 Tenno Sho Autumn 2000m turf 3yos&up, beating such strong older rivals as Mayano Top Gun, Sakura Laurel and Marvelous Sunday!!!!!!!
There have only been four horses to achieve the feat until now.

Bubble Gum Fellow(JPN)(Sunday Silence) in 1996
Symboli Kris S(USA)(Kris S) in 2002
Efforia(JPN)(Epiphaneia) in 2021
Equinox(JPN)(Kitasan Black) in 2022

Bubble Gum Fellow(JPN), 1993H. Sunday Silence(USA) x Bubble Company(FR) by Lyphard(USA), passed away at Breeders Stallion Station where he had been standing in 2010.
His dam Bubble Company was a 1/2 sister to Candy Stripes(USA).

If Sunday silence wasn't sold to Japan would he still have been a super star stallion?

? It's a actual question lol 😆. I don't think he would have been given quality mares to breed. Nor would he have stayed around long here in the states.

Have you guys ever checked out Sunday Silence's lifetime AEI-to-CPI (= Average earning index to Comparable index ratio) by yourselves before drawing your conclusion?

Sunday Silence was a super stallion who managed to sire classy runners even with ordinary broodmares.
His lifetime AEI/CPI was exceptionally (unprecedentedly) high.
You can calculate his AEI/CPI with the information on JBIS.
https://www.jbis.jp/horse/0000333862/sire/generation/

His lifetime AEI/CPI was 4.94/2.13 = 2.32

I personally suspect that he could be successful in the US even if he could NOT have covered top mares in his debut years at stud in the US.

And Symboli Kris S, Efforia and Equinox went on to win the Horse of the Year title, respectively, after winning the Tenno Sho Autumn at 3 in those years!! 8-)

I've just noticed the similarity of the four horses from the Sunday Silence sire-line below --- in white marks in their right hind legs!

Sunday Silence --> Black Tide --> Kitasan Black --> Equinox

I wonder what the strike rate is for Agnes Gold to Redattore mares. Seems to be a potent cross.
