For what it's worth I've always found you guys to be very open and you share your horses with people.Admin wrote:I didn't think you were, and I understand your frustration. I'm just equally frustrated because we were very open and it was all reported. We don't all read all the news, nor do we all remember all the news, so I do understand.Somnambulist wrote:

Seems Offlee high for an Offlee Wild colt.Sparrow Castle wrote:Bayern, winner of the 2014 Breeders' Cup Classic, will stand for $15,000 live foal at Hill 'n' Dale Farms near Lexington.

Not really news, but just an interesting tidbit I noticed over the weekend when looking at results for the G2 Mainichi Okan at Tokyo.

$15,000 is very small for a Breeder's Cup Classic winner who was also a multiple group 1 winner.bare it all wrote:Seems Offlee high for an Offlee Wild colt.Sparrow Castle wrote:Bayern, winner of the 2014 Breeders' Cup Classic, will stand for $15,000 live foal at Hill 'n' Dale Farms near Lexington.

It's hardly a stallion making race. Check the fees for Ft Larned, Drosselmeyer, Invasor, and Ravens Pass and then get back to us.carole wrote:$15,000 is very small for a Breeder's Cup Classic winner who was also a multiple group 1 winner.bare it all wrote:Seems Offlee high for an Offlee Wild colt.Sparrow Castle wrote:Bayern, winner of the 2014 Breeders' Cup Classic, will stand for $15,000 live foal at Hill 'n' Dale Farms near Lexington.

He raced until he was 6, so I don't know what your point is other than to express you contempt for Baffert whenever even remotely related.
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

I have contempt for Baffert? You think?Diver52 wrote:He raced until he was 6, so I don't know what your point is other than to express you contempt for Baffert whenever even remotely related.
The fact that anyone who follows racing more than superficially (not named Bode, Kaleem, Ahmed or Jill) doesn't have some level of comtempt for him is the problem, to be honest.
And whoop de damn doo the horse raced until he was 6. To think that's a credit to the trainer more than its a lack of interest from anyone wanting him as a stallion is naive. You think it's cooincidence that these stallions for the most part all wind up at the same farm?

"America's Fastest 2-Year-Old Colt Since 2010Izvestia wrote:Daredevil retired to Winstar.
No thanks.
Daredevil's performance in the prestigious Champagne Stakes (G1) was historic in many ways, primarily through his titanic 107 Beyer speed figure - the fastest Champagne Beyer in over 20 years. It also marks the fastest juvenile Beyer at the popular distance of one mile over that same time span, and no 2-year-old colt has been faster in any race since Uncle Mo and The Factor half a dozen years ago.
Daredevil is quite simply the fastest juvenile ever by emerging sire of sires More Than Ready, who is renowned for his prowess with champion juveniles around the globe, among both sons & daughters and grandsons & granddaughters."
That's a top-notch marketing BS effort right there. Kudos to the copywriter.

Anyone know why he was retired? It seems he went from 4th in the Wood -----> Freshening ----> working on turf -----> retirement. Soundness perhaps?Izvestia wrote:Daredevil retired to Winstar.

But at 5 starts....I'd rather breed to Bayern

Winstar always has ridiculous ads. THE fastest More Than Ready!!! That's quite a line.
I have zero interest in horses that win a MSW, a grade 1, and nothing else for the rest of their lives. Considering his G1 win was on a sloppy sealed track and he never did anything close to that again.

the fact that i'd forgotten he even existed should say something about him.Izvestia wrote:Winstar always has ridiculous ads. THE fastest More Than Ready!!! That's quite a line.

My favorite ads however are the TV ones about Bodemeister with his owner gushing about his first six furlongs in the Kentucky Derby ("I thought, what kind of horse is that?") without mentioning that he LOST the race.

Yeah, but anyone that saw that race knew exactly how good of a race it was.Diver52 wrote:My favorite ads however are the TV ones about Bodemeister with his owner gushing about his first six furlongs in the Kentucky Derby ("I thought, what kind of horse is that?") without mentioning that he LOST the race.
Best race I've ever seen a horse lose, really. It's a shame he didn't stick around.
