A friend said she heard a rumor that Zenyatta was bred to Union Rags. As much as I love Rags that seems like an odd choice. Anyone out there know anything?

I love Union Rags... but this is interesting/odd.

It seems like an odd choice because Union Rags hasn't exactly been a 'big horse' sire. He's had some very useful horses that seemed to be on the edge of big things yet they never really panned out. Paradise Woods, Catalina Cruiser, Union Strike, Dancing Rags, Free Drop Billy, Patch, etc. Don't get me wrong I love Union Rags but he hasn't been a top sire.

A few posters on The Bloodhorse magazine have said she is going to Candy Ride.

A few posters on The Bloodhorse magazine have said she is going to Candy Ride.

That makes more sense than Union Rags. Looking at all the "in house" stallions at Lane's End, Candy Ride would be my first choice.

it isn't Candy Ride a big horse? I love him but I thought they were trying to minimize Big Z's size with handier stallions. But he does infuse some quickness (other than Game Winner.

). I think Union Rags is also pretty big?

I've seen Candy Ride quite a few times and he never struck me as overly tall. He's definitely stout, for lack of a better word.
