Saw some more pics of the Leslie's Lady colt. This might be the first MDO I have seen that is just unfortunate looking. Hopefully he can grow out of it.
His off side back leg really drew my attention but I think it may be because he has it turned out. But it still looks weird in the other picture that was linked earlier in the thread.

Thanks! I've seen yearlings looking alert and intelligent, others looking skittish, and fewer sluggish. Interesting to know that breeders and consigners are a factor, too.Treve wrote: ↑Wed Sep 12, 2018 11:45 pmConformation yes, movement ('the walk') as well is a huge factor. Vet exam. And plain ol' attractiveness. A flashy attractive horse will usually go for more than a horse equal in pedigree and maybe even slightly better conformation but otherwise ordinary looking head or plain colour. A charismatic yearling will draw more money.
Temperament is a factor as well for some buyers although what they look for here is much more variable from one person to the next, and it isn't as important as the other things.
Those are generalities of course. Other factors can also include, believe it or not, who the consigner is, as well as who the breeders are.

743, Carpe Diem x Caressing colt, is a half to West Coast. $350,000.
ETA: Tapit x Centre Court is a very flashy chestnut colt, got to see him being walked in the back ring on TVG. SW dam brings a very nice female family.
$120,000. Gonna guess RNA.

Does Mr. Mataichiro Yamamoto, who bought the Tapit x Havre de Grace colt, race here, or is the colt headed to Japan?

I think I got to see 763, AP x Cherokee Queen, in the back ring on TVG; she's a very tall, very dark and amazingly calm filly. That's the AP mind, I think. $145,000. Seems low?
764 filly by Kitten's Joy x Chianti Red, who has produced a bunch of winners by KJ, $650,000. Good for KJ.

I notice the Ramseys are following through with what they (or he) said: selling more of their stock.

There’s a Kitten’s Joy x Awesome Flower filly in the catalogue. Wonder what she’ll go for. I’d buy.

I see in the SUMMERY column that the colt DID sell, to Calumet Farm.

Will these bring fireworks? Yes.
823 MdO x Dayatthespa colt. Mare was an outstanding grass runner. Colt is standing like a track pony, he's so quiet. Just his ears are moving around. $1,600,000.
followed by;
824 Curlin x Daydreaming colt, a bright red chestnut with flaxen mane and four white feet. Not big, but well-made. $725,000.

Mataichiro Yamamoto, a Japanese filmmaker, said ; “If he does well at 2 in Japan, I would love to bring him to the US at 3 to contest the Kentucky Derby”.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 13, 2018 1:30 pm Does Mr. Mataichiro Yamamoto, who bought the Tapit x Havre de Grace colt, race here, or is the colt headed to Japan?

977 PotN x Graeme Six filly is bringing some late fireworks...$1,050,000. Interesting to see a filly out of a Graeme Hall mare get those $, but there is some Secretariat back there on the dam side.

Her foals have gotten nice prices before. Seymourdini (yeah I probably spelled that wrong) sold for 900k. The mare herself almost brought a million when she sold a few years ago.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 13, 2018 7:02 pm 977 PotN x Graeme Six filly is bringing some late fireworks...$1,050,000.
