Does anyone have a link to the 2015 Mares Bred numbers, by stallion?

I checked last week on The Jockey Club site and it still had 2014 data.

Been wondering about him, hadn't seen any workouts in months so figured he wasn't going to swoop down for the BC Sprint again. Not much pedigree to offer but a neat horse.

His pedigree might be sneaky good...gives you Unbridled through Eddington, instead of Unbridled's Song, and that cross on Dixieland Band mares has been fairly successful.
Secret Circle is a son of Eddington (by Unbridled), out of the Dixieland Band mare Ragtime Hope. The Unbridled/Dixieland Band cross has produced several quality runners, including graded winners Cotton Blossom, Eight Belles, and Sindy With An S.

Add the fact that he won the G1 Golden Shaheen in the spring of his sixth year, which gives him a nice, relatively long racing career.

I was just thinking that Eddington hasn't been much of a sire otherwise. And although SC's career was "long," he couldn't hold together for a real campaign. But there are a LOT of stallions about whom the same could be said. (Hi, Materiality.)

Bernardini is having himself quite a nice weekend. Particularly surprised he's getting horses who are okay on turf.

IIRC, Bernardini spent one (or more?) seasons standing in Australia. Since Oz races almost exclusively on grass, perhaps his Down Under offspring have shown a liking for the green stuff, encouraging breeders here to send him their turf pedigree mares? Or to take youngsters who haven't exactly sparkled in their dirt efforts and try them on the lawn?

Tapiture to Darby Dan for 2016, upon retirement.

Image
Darby Dan Farm has acquired the breeding rights to Tapit’s millionaire son Tapiture, who will continue racing throughout the remainder of his 4-year-old campaign before retiring to stand stud at the Lexington-based farm in 2016.

“We are thrilled and extremely grateful to partner with Ron Winchell on Tapiture, who is quite simply one of the most impressive individuals by his sire, Tapit,” said Robert Hammond, Darby Dan Vice Chairman. “Tapiture has proven to be a top-class miler, and he displayed tremendous precociousness to break his maiden in a Grade 2 at Churchill as a 2-year-old, before going on to race in 13 straight Graded stakes. When you combine his physical and sire power with his race record, it’s easy to see why he’s such an exciting stallion prospect.”

Trained by Steve Asmussen for owner and breeder Winchell Thoroughbreds, the four-time graded stakes-winning Tapiture is in training at Saratoga and will again target the $1 million Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (G1) at Keeneland. Last year as a 3-year-old, Tapiture was a strong runner-up to defending champion Goldencents in the Dirt Mile, earning a 105 Beyer for the performance to close out his sophomore season.

“Darby Dan has such a long and storied tradition of standing top stallions, and we look forward to working with John Phillips, Robert Hammond, and the team to give Tapiture a huge chance at stud,” said Ron Winchell. “From day one, Tapiture has been a favorite. Our racing and farm manager, David Fiske, and Steve Asmussen and his team have always been super high on this colt, and he displayed his brilliance on several occasions as a 2-year-old and as a 3-year-old. There’s no question he’s one of Tapit’s best sons, and breeders are really going to like him when they see him. For us, it’s easy to be fully committed to supporting Tapiture with mares.”

As a juvenile, Tapiture was weighted among the top colts in North America on the 2013 Experimental Free Handicap. The precocious colt was a close third in the Iroquois S. (G3) at Churchill before breaking his maiden in the $150,000 Kentucky Jockey Club S. (G2) by a runaway 4 ¼ lengths.
In his first start as a 3-year-old, Tapiture cruised to another dominant 4 ¼-length victory in the $300,000 Southwest S. (G3) at Oaklawn, defeating Grade 1 winner Strong Mandate and eventual Preakness S. (G1) runner-up Ride On Curlin. Tapiture also captured wins in the $100,000 Matt Winn S. (G3) at Churchill and $750,000 West Virginia Derby (G2) at Mountaineer. In the latter, he defeated fellow millionaires Candy Boy and Vicar’s in Trouble, earning a 101 Beyer in the lucrative 1 1/8-mile event for 3-year-olds.

Aside from his runner-up performance in the Breeders’ Cup, Tapiture was also a good second to next-out Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) winner Bayern in the $1,000,000 Pennsylvania Derby (G2) at Parx, and to Grade 1 winner Hoppertunity in the $600,000 Rebel S. (G2) at Oaklawn. He currently has earnings of $1,476,060, and has won or placed in 10 Graded stakes races to date.

Tapiture will be offered on the Share The Upside Program upon his retirement to Darby Dan for 2016. A complete roster of stallions and fees for 2016 will be determined and announced at a later date. For more information about Tapiture and Darby Dan’s Share The Upside Program, please contact Ryan Norton at (859) 254-0424 or ryan@darbydan.com.

Didn't he have early success with runners on the turf?
