Hana's Goal is owned by expat Australian Michael Tabart who lives in Japan.
That may be why Australia/HK had a priority over other regions.

Japan's best middle distance horses (on turf) will inevitably be aimed at the Arc in Autumn perhaps until someone gets the first win. Japanese are really obsessed with the Arc at the moment.....
But Japan's top sprinters/milers on turf and top dirt horses SHOULD have much wider-range of targets all around the world.
I personally would love to see more Japanese horses run in the BC races.

"Arc trip not ideal for Just A Way but rider excited"

http://www.racingpost.com/news/horse-ra ... t7DaysNews
---------------
Fukunaga said: "To win the Arc is a dream of Japanese people so I am very excited to ride in the race for the first time. Just A Way prefers fast ground. It's true it was soft ground last time, but as you could see in Dubai he prefers it quick
"The trip is not ideal, but rather than feeling nervous about it I'm more excited. His ideal distance is nine or ten furlongs

In the meantime, trainer Naosuke Sugai announced today that both Just a Way and Gold Ship would be stabled at the yard of Satoshi Kobayashi, French-based Japanese trainer, in Chantilly.
Orfevre was stabled at Satoshi Kobayashi in 2012 and 2013, too.

I like Harp Star's chances in the Arc. Three-year-fillies have done really well in the race, and Deep Impact's daughter could win the race her sire just missed.

Sun Classique(AUS), one of the greatest granddaughter of Sunday Silence, died at the age of eleven on August 26th 2014.

I've just come across this sad news, as I was browsing through Australian Studbook this morning.
I've not found any detail yet.

Sunday Silence grandsons and granddaughter have left Narita Airport for Amsterdam this morning.
They had to reschedule their itinerary to Chantilly because of the strike of Air France pilots. :?
With no direct flight to Paris available, this is going to be a much longer journey than planned.
