Thanks- so likely not due until May sometime?

I heard through the grape vine that she aborted again
Oh no! Hopefully not true
Oh no— can we verify this?

Email the farm, or DM one of Zenyatta's social media accounts - whoever manages them would know.

Hopefully they’ll make an announcement soon if it’s true. Just heard from someone that knows people at Lane’s End

She was bred to Candy Ride (ARG) in 2020.

Man it seems like neither Z nor rachel have had much luck as broodmares and has Rachel's valentina even produced much?

Rough luck all around. Not many years left for her broodmare career.

Guessing shenwould be pensioned by the time she turns 20

Yes Zenyatta did lose her 2021 foal. The information is on the zenyatta website. I wouldn’t be surprised if they decide to let her live the rest of her years without breeding.

Wonder if it was placentitis again. I wonder if they will breed her back or give her the year off for treatment then try one last time in 2022 before retiring her as a broodmare. Maybe Zilkha can break through and be a runner.

There's an overwhelming demand from the fans to pension zenyatta...my opinion is the MOSSES know her best...let them and her team of vets decide

She’s a 17-year-old mare who has lost two of her last five pregnancies and a third died days after birth from complications of pregnancy. Of her three living foals of racing age, two were poor runners and one is an unraced 4yo.

The combined published stud fees of the stallions Zenyatta has visited over the years is over $700,000–and that’s only for the pregnancies that resulted in a live foal (I’m counting the War Front colt, who did stand and nurse.) Add in vet bills, training costs, and agistment and the amount of money spent on Zenyatta foals is approaching $1,000,000... and she still doesn’t even have a maiden winner.

So, yes, I agree with you that she’s likely to be pensioned. There’s a point at which one is just throwing good money after bad, she’s not getting younger, and she has two very well-bred daughters who can be retired to the paddocks.

I don't know if it was just a coincidence, but TVG ran one of their "Classic" series this afternoon: Zenyatta's Classic win in 2009.
I remember watching that race unfold. When she made that running-back move at the head of the stretch, I thought my heart was going to leap out of my chest.
That Big Mare always brought the adrenaline...and a lot of joy.
The loss of so many of her foals is tragic, but IMHO, her first filly, the War Front-sired "Z Princess," was the most promising. Got old enough that you could see her quality coming through. That hurt.

No kidding.

I hope they do keep trying - or at least if they do stop, it's not due to public pressure.

The fans are the main reason they stopped posting stuff on there. A lot of it started when Z Princess died. Because according to fans, it was Lane's Ends fault the filly broke her neck running into another horse. Then of course there have been the fans who didn't want her bred from day 1. When people ask why farms/owners don't release information about their horses, its easy to point a situations like this. No one wants to deal with freaking crazy people.

Here 2 fillies are worth quite a bit even if they never race or never win a race, just because of the bloodline. The offspring of those 2 fillies will be worth more because Zenyatta is their granddam.

I know they aren't but they try to share their horses with the public, which they don't have to, and then the crazy fans (which aren't all fans) cause farms/owners to not want to, that is all I'm saying.
