Zilkha is the last name of a record producer, Michael Zilkha and his singer wife, Cristina.
Since Jerry co-founded A&M Records maybe he knew them. Who knows. All I know is that name could be 1000x worse and I won't complain about it.

Zilkha is better than the very corny, uninspired Rachel's Valentina and Jess's Dream.

Jess's Dream? Sure. But I'm always surprised by the amount of people who don't like Rachel's Valentina. It's not particularly clever but it's very cute, especially considering she was born on Valentine's Day... at least they didn't just go with Rachel's Valentine

At the very least I can appreciate that both names are meaningful to the connections. Zenyatta's people just add the letter 'Z' to words.

You beat me to it. I think it's sweet they named her after somebody's (deceased?) wife, but there had to of been better names to get that point across. A cute nickname?? Pull a RA and do the first/middle name?? Simply Karin?? Who knows.

To clarify--I was speculating about worse names for Z's foal! AFAIK there is no such horse as "Candy Kizzes," but it would have been worse than Zilkha!

I kinda like Zilkha and Zellda, they kind of have a european feel to them (they remind me of the Zarkava, Zerkaza, Zarkash/Goldikova, Goldika, etc names). Q B One and Jess's Dream are far worse (even though I like the backstory behind Jess's Dream's name - it's still terrible).

Don't forget either that Q B One and Jess's Dream were both named via naming contests. So that seems like always the worst option possible.

I love Zellda! Reminds me of the video game I would probably like Zilkha if it meant something cool or if I knew how to pronounce it lol

It should be Zil (like pill) and Ka (like car). Those were the first two words that came to mind.
