Bird Town was funny to watch, I really hope Arravale foals soon, she looks really uncomfortable and tired. Anyone know how old she is?lurkey mclurker wrote:So different from Bird Town, who would have been sprawled out snoozing away...

She's a 2003 model.
Give me that short lead, give me that win by a nose, get them all home safely!

Did her 2017 Animal kingdom foal survive?

There's no mention aside from the filly being born last Feb. 10, so hoping no news is good news. But someone with access to the JC reports or Equineline would know for sure...

i'm hoping for an uneventful delivery tonight, not sure how many more days i can watch her be uncomfortable and nearly nose-dive when trying to sleep. i did like watching bird town sprawled out!

She keeps circling & then putting her head down and I start to think Finally! and then she starts eating hay. Bet she wishes she'd gone ahead with the false alarm a few days ago...

More Early Signs!
May 27th, 2018
Arravale continues to create suspense around her imminent delivery! Chelsey and her team do an incredible job of monitoring Arravale's health and her symptoms. Here is the farm update this morning: Arravale ran milk for about an hour last night and then had wax the rest of the night until about 5am. Arravale and Mother Nature keep us guessing when her foal will arrive!

LOL poor Arravale, Chelsey is making a vid with her phone and there are all sorts of undignified angles Have the baby already, you silly mare and they'll stop filming your butt.

I just checked her live feed. From the "v" shape of her belly, it looks like her foal might have dropped. But she was just standing there quietly. No obvious signs and her tail is not wrapped. This was around 7:15pm eastern time.Personal Ensign wrote:

Her belly's been that low for the past three days, LOL. They've checked on her frequently, makes me wonder if she's dripping milk again.
ETA: vid clip is up! And nope, nothing exciting happening at the mo, sheesh. And yep, allllll the embarrassing angles.

I just checked on her again at 9:08pm eastern. Nothing happening. I'm concerned but only because of what happened to Via Veneto.

A few minutes before 11 PM EDT...and it seems pretty quiet on the Arravale foal front. Though judging by how big she looks, I expect this foal will be ready to start under saddle shortly after birth.
The most excitement so far has been a large moth suddenly attacking the camera.

There's a new vid clip up from a few hours ago this morning, Chelsey says Arravale became very irritable around 2-3am ET, lying down & getting up and this morning she's walking the fence again in the small paddock where they're watching her, and a bit of the lying down/up.
Chelsey says they try to let the mares break their water outside so it doesn't mess up the stalls as much so they'll alert when that happens. Hopefully today?!?!

In other less exciting news, the Chanteclair Farm cam has switched to the small paddock where Arravale is under watch. She's got some human company as she walks the fence line (probably wants her dinner too LOL)... just hoping at this point that she doesn't decide to foal right in the middle of game 1 of the stanley cup final!

She keeps pawing the hay and flagging her tail up and down. There has been somebody at her gate several times with a flashlight looking in on her so maybe she is getting ready?

Looks like Arravale might be getting ready to foal. She tried to lay down, but didn’t go all the way down. I don’t know if it’s the camera, but she looks sweaty as well.
