The photo of Contrail would look different if seen from the side. I believe he is showing off his "bow," which is also a good stretch.

I love that Winstar still rides their stallions, might be the only thing that I love that they do. I wasn't sure if they still did as it feels like many years since I saw a pic of that.Akitaperson wrote: ↑Tue Aug 06, 2024 11:15 am Winstar stallions Life is Good and Constitution out for a ride

Constitution strikes me every time I see a photo of him. But yes, it does feel like a long time since we've seen photos of them being riddenFlanders wrote: ↑Tue Aug 06, 2024 11:24 amI love that Winstar still rides their stallions, might be the only thing that I love that they do. someone posted this picture of him from when they visited in June. i can't imagine how many painkillers he must be on to tolerate walking, let alone breeding 3x a day.
i like plushies. a lot.

With the number he covers I would be shocked if it's more then 3x a day. It's honestly gross what some of these big farms put there stallions through

Aside from the physical issues (hooves, knees, etc), he looks just exhausted in this picture! I realize it's just a phone photo taken by a visiting fan, but wow! He will turn officially 20 this Jan 1, but in this non-professional photograph, he looks older than that. He far from emaciated! As a matter of fact, he looks in this picture to be overweight, which given his physical stuff going on, can't be helpful!
Please understand. I have no expertise in making evaluations like this, even with photos professionally posed and composed, and this picture is definitely not one of those. I just know what my gut reaction is to seeing Into Mischief looking like this, because I loved his sire, I loved him in his brief racing career, and I was thrilled when he exploded onto the stallion scene after a few average seasons. And I was heartbroken when I finally realized what Spendthrift was doing to him.....not too long ago.....and ashamed that it took me so long to see it!

Though I never noticed it before, that patch appears to have been there for awhile so it may just be a somatic mutation, though I'm not sure. Its hard to find pics of that side, most are from his other side (like all conformation shots are). You can see it here, in the big picture at the top of the page where he is galloping:

Came back to edit: I can see it in this horrific quality video of the 07 Cashcall Futurity. Just have to pause it at the right spot when his leg is extended, good luck.

I just realized today (I did search here but I didn't see it mentioned but I mightve missed it) that American Pharoah is a carrier of the rare godolphin bloodline. It's nice to see a stud at a big farm carrying that bloodline.

Its only his tail male line that is getting rare. He is in every horse's pedigree, many times over, same with the Byerley Turk and other stallions whose sire lines don't exist anymore. He is in Eclipse's pedigree and all the Darley Arabian sire line descends from him.Akitaperson wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2024 6:26 pm I just realized today (I did search here but I didn't see it mentioned but I mightve missed it) that American Pharoah is a carrier of the rare godolphin bloodline. G1SW Dubai Mile (Roaring Lion) is being offered in the Tattersalls August Digital Sale. Its strange because he just completed his first year at stud.

Interesting article on the 3 main founding sire lines-they say that Byerley Turk and Godolphin lines will be extinct in 8-10 years https://paulickreport.com/features/big- ... ng-careersFlanders wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2024 7:06 pmIts only his tail male line that is getting rare.
