I really feel like we were robbed of the *joy* of seeing this horse race. I hope he does well in Japan.

He wieghes 600+ kilograms (= 1322+ lbs) today!

Yikes, but I'm not entirely sure why. He just looks....uncomfortable. Maybe it's just his shoulder/neck/head. Something throws me way off.

Could be that 'You talkin' to me?' expression...

Ultimate Eagle. Wow.

Brigand will be standing at the same farm in the Philippines. They don't have up a conformation pic of him ATM.

I'm sure this is posted but I can't make myself go back through the thread.

Giant Surprise (posted on FB by Rockridge Stud). That right front is scary.

Yes, the front legs are not good, as stated in many Repole interviews, Giant Surprise had a condylar fracture and had life saving surgery. He can obviously produce stakes horses as he has 4 in his 1st crop. Remember Hoist the Flag, Global Hunter, and a few others that broke down but were able to be successful sires.

He's a handsome, nicely-balanced horse from the knees up. If those front legs have a reasonable explanation for looking so scary, he could be another good NY stallion...and a son of Giant's Causeway, to boot.

His shin is huge in the front left - that would be the condylar. It looks similar to Jump Start's leg... and he's a damn fine sire too.

He's crooked as a snake?
Or he's standing weird (like stepping suddenly, although why would you use that picture for his conformation shot???).
It looks beyond weird.

I also wondered if he was caught as he was about to shift his weight/re-position his right leg...and if I were the owner, I would have asked for another take. ;)

i thought maybe it was another injury (perhaps related to the left side injury). yikes. if he's mid step, they should choose another shot (assuming there was more than one taken that day), or as mentioned above, a re-shoot.

i that's just what it looks like.... yowza.

He's upright and over at the knee, that's why his leg looks like that. And I'm sure why he couldn't quite hold up to racing.

He's stunning from the knees up.

That is incredibly over at the knee, don't you think? He has to be shifting his leg. Uh...or maybe that yucky shin on the left make sense now.

Is that Barbara Livingston's watermark? If he was shifting/moving, I'd think she wouldn't want that photo used either... :?

Here's a very *slightly* better one from the farm page... you can more clearly see the healed injury. But that right fore is still

Does anyone have a before injury picture? Is it conformation or injury that makes his legs wonky? It would be interesting to do a comparison; especially if you were considering breeding your mare.
