very agressive, got like that when shuttling to Australia and kept the behavior when he came back to the USA. he attacked (and hospitalized) his racetrack groom who had been brought in to try and help. who would've thought that overbreeding could cause a mental breakdown! he supposedly got better shortly after but i wouldn't be surprised if he relapsed again.
because why give them breaks when you can just "solve" the issue while still making the horse do what caused the problem?

Bolt D'Oro back on track after steps taken to deal with aggressive nature

From what I remember about Bolt is they moved him away from the other stallions to help him.

Thanks this was kept out of the US racing news as I had not heard that story before. Glad he is doing better. Sue McDonnell was one of my professors at Penn back in the late 80’s.

Would Spendthrift get rid of Authentic? Sure he's a "Kentucky Derby Winner" and "Into Mischiefs best son" but his foals look nothing like runners. Not on turf, not on dirt, and there's been 21 runners and only 2 winners, and only 3 horses who have placed with it being almost August.

i'd argue he wasn't precocious himself, his foals will probably get better as 3yos. and i don't see them selling a freshman sire anyways, especially one by Into Mischief.

now i have to say this will probably impact his sales anyways. his yearlings sold well last year ($285,033 average) but in terms of 2yo sales this year (before they hit the track of course) it was kinda bad compared to some of the other freshmen of his "level", even the nicer bred ones and/or the ones that worked fast didn't sell too well ($149,535 average).
and a lot of them look... bad. which i'm sure doesn't help their racing ability.
i like plushies. a lot.

I don't think Authentic is the most attractive horse to begin with, so I'm not especially surprised that his foals aren't either. He reminds me of a sunfish. We'll see what happens as they mature though.

My list is on page 4. Its long, very very long.

if you want a shorter list, just one per farm:
Airdrie - none
Calumet - who knows
Claiborne - Catholic Boy
Coolmore - Mendelssohn
Darby Dan - Leofric
Darley - none
Gainesway - Tapwrit
Hill N Dale - World of Trouble
Lanes End - Catalina Cruiser would have been my #1 choice
Spendthrift - Coal Front
Three Chimneys - none
Winstar - Always Dreaming

Spendthrift I think has a few candidates and they seem to be one of the big farms who frequently moves more then one stallion each year. But your list I agree with. Honestly I'm surprised Winstar didn't move Always Dreaming last year

I feel like they'll have to move on as many stallions as they bring in. Right now we know 2 for sure, National Treasure and Dornoch, and can pretty much guarantee 3 since Kingsbarns is owned by them. I imagine there will be more, the only question is how many more. Because if they bring in 6 they'll probably have to get rid of 6, do they want to do that?

Yeah---I think he might be the first Kentucky Derby winner to stand in the state since 1940 Derby winner Gallahadion, who stood there in the 1950s.
