Oh! A good friend of mine worked with Sultana when she was on internship in Kentucky. She loves Caval -- she reports that she was a pretty sickly little foal who then moved onto very slow work times, but then gained some hype at SA before pulling this off. Glad to hear she was also Blame's first winner!TBird wrote:Blame just had his first winner.
Caval, a 2yo filly o/o Sultana won the first race at Santa Anita by 5-6 lengths.

Not a wholesome trottin' race, no, but a race where they sit down right on the horse!
Like to see some stuck-up jockey boy sittin' on Dan Patch? Make your blood boil? Well, I should say!

Eskendereya gets his first winner as Isabella Sings wins her debut on turf at Belmont, goes wire to wire under Rosario. Longer price of an uncoupled Pletcher entry. Fave Eskenformoney (sounds like another offspring) was 4th.

Freshman sire Temple City was represented by his first winner on Sunday when Jusgimmetenminutes scored in the first race at Arapahoe Park.
Breaking near the rear of the field, Jusgimmetenminutes made up the ground to score by a neck over Tropic Vision, clocking the five and a half furlong event in 1:06 3/5. Owned by Ed Kidneigh, he is trained by Temple Rushton and was ridden to victory by Miguel Fuentes, Jr.
Jusgimmetenminutes was bred by Oakmont Farm in Kentucky and is out Shezaharleygirl, an unraced daughter of Harlan’s Holiday.
Temple City, a son of the late Dynaformer out of a half-sister to leading sire Malibu Moon, was a four-time winner in 15 starts. The highlight of his career was a wire-to-wire win in the Grade 3 Cougar II Handicap at Del Mar in 2010, in which he set the track record over the Polytrack at 2:30 2/5 for twelve furlongs.
Other top performances from Temple City include narrow defeats in the Grade 1 Hollywood Turf Cup and Grade 2 American Handicap that same year. He earned $326,400 on the track.
