As a side note, Great Journey's dam Ambrosine(USA) is the 3rd dam of the 2014 Japanese Derby winner One and Only(JPN). Great Journey's 3rd dam is Courtly Dee.

Does anyone know which race Little Journey will be pointed to next?

Awww.. Heart's Cry now rules?
His offspring have marked G1 titles three weeks in a row!!!

Just a Way(JPN), 2010C.Heart’s Cry(JPN) x Sybil(JPN) by Wild Again(USA), won the G1 Yasuda Kinen 1600m turf at Tokyo on July 8th by nose.
The champ apparently disliked unusually heavy going due to the record rainfall over the past three days, but got up late not to disappoint the crowd who gathered to watch the world's highest-rated horse.
His jockey Yoshitomi Shibata commented after the race; ''Just a Way lost his balance several times and could give up his effort. But his strong determination carried us to the finish line''.

I'm now convinced that he can be a real champion.
And if he can handle both the firm and the soft, I would love to see him run in Europe this autumn. :D

And underrated Heart's Cry now proves to be an amazing stallion.

Just a Way impressed me last night with his determination. Not to diminish Sunday Silence's influence, but IMO, Just a Way may get a lot of that fierce competitive drive through his dam. Wild Again won the first Breeders' Cup Classic in 1984 by a nose in a wild three-way fight...and his jockey, Pat Day, has said he's never ridden a horse who tried harder to win. Said he could hear the horse grunt with every stride as he fought to get up at the wire.
And yeah...I'd love to see the Heart's Cry colt in the Arc next fall.

Today, the IFHA & Longines recognized Orfevre(JPN)(by Stay Gold) as the co-3rd highest rated horse for 2013 during a ceremony in Tokyo.

Was he the co-third??
As far as I'm concerned, he was the most exciting turf horse over the past years. :D

Gold Ship(JPN), 2009H. Stay Gold(JPN) x Point Flag(JPN) by Mejiro McQueen(JPN), lives up to favorism by winning the G1 Takarazuka Kinen 2200m turf at Hanshin easily.
Sent off the top choice of the public, he becomes the first horse in history to win this All-Star Race in Spring back-to-back.

I strongly hope that his connections will take him to the Arc this year!!!

Gold Ship is a combination of two favorites of mine -- Stay Gold and Mejiro McQueen. He's definitely not the most consistent sort but when he's on he's very, very good. If I translated correctly I believe the trainer described him as 'moody.' :D

Gold Ship became first grey horse in histroy to win five Group 1 races in Japan.
Oguri Cap and Mejiro McQueen won four G1s.
Also, for a grey horse, he smashed the earning record that had been held by his dam's sire Mejiro McQueen.
And, yes, Stay Gold - Mejiro McQueen cross seems to form an incredible nick.
Orfevre, from the same cross, was somewhat ''moody'', too. :D

Trainer Naosuke Sugai announced today that both Just a Way(JPN)(H5, by Heart's Cry) and Gold Ship(JPN)(H5, by Stay Gold) would run in the Arc this year.
While Just a Way(JPN) will go straight to the Arc with Yuichi Fukunaga, Gold Ship(JPN) will have a prep in the G2 Sapporo Kinen before leaving for France with Norihiro Yokoyama. In the Sapporo Kinen, 2000m turf, Gold Ship(JPN) might face Harp Star(JPN)(F3, by Deep Impact) who is also probable for the Arc.

''Japanese superstars confirmed for Arc''

The pair will travel to France two weeks before the Arc and will be based in Chantilly.

Sugai, who had voiced concerns about the enigmatic Gold Ship's suitability to travel, said: "I have decided to let the two go there together. They have a good relationship so it would work to keep them together.

"Just A Way will be able to run his best without a prep race and I plan to train him to get the trip in the Arc.

"Gold Ship will run in the Sapporo Kinen because his owner wants to let as many fans in Hokkaido see him."

That was really a fabulous win.
And she definitely deserved it!! :D
This filly could have been the Oka Sho winner in 2012 if she had not been injured after her Tulip Sho win.
So it seems that she's finally returned to her true self here. :D
She made her sire Orewa Matteruze(JPN) the 25th son of Sunday Silnece to sire a G1 winner worldwide.
It was very sad that Orewa Metteruze, winner of the 2006 G1 Takamatsunomiya Kinen, passed away last year at the age of 13.
