are they just hand ridden, or are they american pharoah'd to get the super best fastest time they will ever get in their lives? i don't see a crop there, but i'm also not overly familiar with under tack sales.

Both. Some are wacked a lot. Some get the whip shaken at them. Go and look at the videos of the breezes, you will see. I think they are a special crop (fatter, softer?), but I don't know for sure.

Most of the sales companies have rules regarding whipping now. This is the policy for OBS; stick usage is on page 2.

I just really wonder what happens to 2-year olds that are worked so hard, flat out, for the sale and then expected to maintain that level of performance in a racing career.

I'm sure there's data on how they do, starts/wins/earnings etc... it just seems like if they peak or have crazy-fast times for the sale, then what?

I understand with this filly her pedigree is highly desirable even if she never races, but still. :?
