Found out he bred 4 mares this year, no longer on LE's list and BH stallion register list him as pensioned. Did I miss something?

If he is on the "Report of Mares Bred" as having bred four, that's all he covered. It has nothing to do with pregnancies.Sheepish wrote:He may have bred them, but they may not be in foal, or he bred several more and four was ALL he got in foal.

For some reason he isn't listed on the report of live foals on Bloodhorse but is listed on the one on the Jockey Club's webpage.
He bred 6 mares last year and had 2 foals this year.
He really hasn't done anything as a sire. Its not a bad thing for them to pension him. Kudos to them actually.

I think they have been given a fair chance considering they are awful sires. They have also stood all over the world, Northern and Southern Hemisphere with these results:flytpthestars wrote:Too bad theatrical line aren't attractive to breeders

Just to sort of file this under the Shakespeare thread, I'm reposting from the Stallions thread:
Shakespeare has been pensioned. No official story or anything on it, but a friend of mine sent in a request for info to Lane's End and received this:

Shakespeare has been retired and moved to his owners farm '' Dell Ridge'' farm. He is doing very well there. The lack of interest from breeders ( 4 mares bred in 2014) prompted his move.
