For example, the North American average earnings per starter in 2022 was $30,508 or 73% of the 2022 average earnings per starter in Japan. To put 2023 earnings on par, all Japanese progeny earnings are multiplied by 73% before being credited to a sire's progeny earnings. For 2023, Hong Kong earnings are adjusted by 17%. Current year stakes winners include all N.H.-foaled black-type stakes winners worldwide. *Foal counts include Southern Hemisphere. Cumulative stakes winners include all countries. The columns represent the following: Rnrs = number of runners or starters; Wnrs = number of winners; BTWnrs = number of black-type stakes winners; BTHrs = number of black-type stakes horses, which include runners that won or placed in a stakes; GSWnrs = graded/group stakes winners; and G1SWnrs = grade/group 1 winners; AWD = progeny average winning distance. All percentages are from runners. Cumulative stakes winners include all available countries. Categorical leaders are in bold.

King Kamehameha(JPN)(Kingmambo) has become the sire of four individual G1 winning & siring stallions, when T O Royal(JPN)[2018H. Leontes(JPN) x Meisho Ohi(JPN) by Manhattan Cafe(JPN)] captured his first G1 title in the Tenno Sho Spring 3200m turf at Kyoto under Yuji Hishida on April 28th 2024.

King Kamehameha(JPN) has been represented by:

Lord Kanaloa(JPN)
Rulership(JPN)
Duramente(JPN)
Leontes(JPN)

And champion Cesario(JPN) has enhanced her reputation as a wonderful broodmare, too, producing two individual G1 winning & siring stallions (Epiphaneia and Leontes) so far.

Leontes reminds me so much of his beautiful black dam, who I watched dominate the field in the 2005 G1 American Oaks at Hollywood Park. She was stunning...tall and black (don't care that she was 'officially' dark bay/brown), imperious and fast.

Yes, he does resemble Cesario quite a bit. Cesario's win in the American Oaks is one of my favorite races.

I was there at Hollywood Park that day. I will never forget how she bolted during the post parade/warm-up and ran off with Yutaka Take. I really don't remember if an outrider caught her or if Yutaka managed to pull her up on his own. But everyone around me (including me) was saying, "well, forget her! She's done!" Remember, that was I think the first time any Japanese bred and raced horse had ever shipped to the US for a major stakes race, and all of us Yankees thought we knew everything!

After the race, all of us Yankees were standing there with mouths wide open saying, "What just happened here?" It's one of the most visually amazing performances I've ever seen in my life!!

I'm so glad that King Kamehameha finally gets the respect he deserves inducted into the JRA Hall of Fame.
It's now great to see JRA Hall of Fame inductees over three generations.
This is the unprecedented achievement by a stallion in Japan.

King Kamehameha(JPN)(Kingmambo) --> Lord Kanaloa(JPN)(King Kamehameha) --> Almond Eye(JPN)(Lord Kanaloa)

Here's a wonderful article in Netkeiba.com, too.

Duramente(JPN)(King Kamehameha) became the only 3rd stallion in history to sire both 1200m G1 winner and 3200m G1 winner in Japan following Sunday Silence(USA) and Deep Impact(JPN), as his 4yo colt Lugal(JPN)[o/o Atab(IRE) by New Approach(IRE)] won the G1 Sprinters Stakes 1200m turf at Nakayama on Sep 29th 2024. (Duramente's son Titleholder won the Tenno Sho Spring 3200m turf at Hanshin in 2022)

Interestingly, Lugal has an inbreeding (4 x 4) of the great Miesque(USA) through Kingmambo(USA) and his own 4th dam! 8-)

A statue of Liberty Island(JPN)(2023 Japanese Triple Tiara winner by Duramente) has been built at Kyoto Racecourse. :D
She is wearing her trademark pom-poms. 8-)

Ohh.....
That sculptor took some serious "artistic" liberties with horse anatomy on Liberty Island's statue.
Hoo boy :(

Maybe they weren’t allowed to see a horse (any horse) in the flesh before they started. Yikes.

It's amazing that King Kamehameha is still siring G1 winners after he passed away five years ago!!

Stunning Rose(JPN) in the QE2 Cup is his second G1 winner this year following Peptide Nile(JPN) in the February Stakes.
His 7yo horse Arata(JPN) is also the G3 Fukushima Kinen winner today.

Stunning Rose(JPN), 2019M. King Kamehameha(JPN) x Rosa Blanca(JPN) by Kurofune(USA), claimed her first win since 2022 and second G1 victory in the Elizabeth II Cup 2200m turf at Kyoto under Christian Demuro in 2:11.1 on Nov 10th 2024, updating the 23-year-old race record set by To the Victory(JPN)!!!!

Rulership(JPN)(King Kamehameha) sired his fourth G1 winner, as his 6 year-old son Soul Rush(JPN)[o/o Eternal Bouquet(JPN) by Manhattan Cafe(JPN)] captured his much-awaited first G1 victory impressively in the Mile Championship 1600m turf at Kyoto under Taisei Danno beating strong rivals that included European champion miler Charyn(IRE) on Nov 17th 2024.
