Sale is today, Tuesday the 26th.

https://www.fasigtipton.com/2023/California-Fall-Sale#/

If you like a California sire, he probably has yearlings in the sale. If you go in looking for photos, don't have high standards. Quite a few are in front of a bush that makes it hard to see any faults in their legs. Then there are the ones that look like they were taken in 1985 in front of a Sea World exhibit.

26 - wth?? I refuse to believe this is a yearling
40 - the very, extremely childish side of me wants the horse to be named Wardrobe Malfunction but the name is too long
179 - interesting low/minimal black on his legs
264 - filly by Honor A.P. is really cute

i was looking at some of the Faversham yearlings and noted that the pedigree pages said his first foals are currently 2yos. i was like, huh? because i was pretty sure they were yearlings. looked into BH articles, the news of retirement came in October 2020, and the article stated that he covered a small group of test mares earlier in the spring — i always thought these were non-TB and were pinched —, so i looked into the RMBs and he is listed as having bred 4 mares with 1 live foal. is that foal from a test mare??
i like plushies. a lot.

Hip 1 - c. Sir Prancealot x Yerevan Storm - he's good looking.

Hip 16 and 18 are also nice, and 18 is out of Angelica Zapata.

Hip 25 has to be photoshopped, or he's missing a lot of his back left hoof. He is not the only one photoshopped. Hip 76, for example, is missing a big chunk of left front hoof.

Hip 26 was born on Jan 2, so that's prob why he looks so mature. Hip 235 is another born in early Jan that looks very mature.

Hip 40 - who the heck is Golden Balls? In any case, I vote Birthday Suit for his name.

I like Hip 46, a Stay Thirsty colt.

Hip 50 is a Kitten's Joy filly and I like her more than I liked pretty much all the Kitten's Joys at Keeneland September. BUT WAIT. She is by Kitten's Joy and her 3rd dam is half sister to Kitten's Joy. Eesh.

Hip 69 is from the female family of Skip Away! Don't see that much. He's also cute but I'm suspecting that I just like the way the Stay Thirstys look.

Hip 115 is from the female family of Nashoba's Key and is pretty nice looking.

Hip 142 looks black.

Hip 152 is nice looking, even if he is floating above the ground and maybe missing some hoof. Same with Hip 234.

Hip 186 - I want him for a riding horse.

Hip 229 is pretty.

He has 2. One must have been late being registered or reported. I didn't check the yearlings but the 2yos are both real. https://www.pedigreequery.com/progeny/faversham4 Looking at the mares who knows, Elusive Tiger has a 2023 foal, that is the only foal either of them have had since their 2yos.

I don't think they are photoshopped, the horses are just standing in loose dirt/path. But the photos give that illusion of photoshopping and are all from the same farm/agent.

Breakers Isle is out of Bear Now which I guess gave him the credentials to keep his testicles.
Golden Balls was actually California-based (he was sent to the US and his stakes wins are in California), but he was supposedly pensioned in 2020 so ??
Point Piper was a good hard-knocking racehorse out of an Epsom Oaks winner, full brother to Viscount Nelson and 1/2 to Horatio Nelson, Red Rock Canyon and Van Gogh (all G1 winners or G1 placed), blue hen female family all the way back. He's a stallion who would would likely be getting better/more mares standing in Europe.

Count me in as someone that doesn't ever remembering hearing of Golden Balls. He stood in I suppose California from 2011 - 2021, he doesn't have a RMB after that. But he has 77 foals of racing age, 50 starters, 26 winners, no SWs.

Greyvitos is a G3SW. I remember him, mostly cause I like his female family. He survived the fire at Say Luis Rey Downs as a 2yo.

There are a lot of nice looking horses in the sale. Their pages might not be super deep but overall, from the ones I looked at their photos(which was alot) they looked nice. There was a Stanford I saw that had weird looking front legs but that was the only one that made me be, what is going on there? And then it might just be the way the horse is standing cause some of the photos definitely didn't have the time put into them as others. Like the ones that looked like someone was hiding in the bushes in 1985.

Seems like some of these regional sales would be an opportunity for some sporthorse/pleasure riding folks to bring home a good prospect for cheap.
Like this handsome guy (101), I'd take him for $2k.

i liked him, but he was always running way out of his league.
https://www.equibase.com/profiles/Resul ... registry=T

he was born the same year as Silver Knockers and what i wouldn't give to see some naming ideas from THAT cross...

"Golden Balls" is a funny name but honestly it made me think of Christmas ornaments when I first discovered him a while ago. I imagine that's what his owners were going for, though his sire's name has "dancer" in it so maybe they meant balls like events.

Yeah, when I went through the photos, I was pretty impressed with the quality of horses. I started making a list of the ones I liked but there were too many!

Hip 264 - f. Honor AP x Tiz Willy was RNA (5,500) and I thought she was nice looking. She'd make an excellent riding horse.
Image

Hip 256 - f. Governor Charlie x Time for Sally went for $1,500. Her pedigree page is basically empty, but I thought she looked very nice.
Image

Hip 212 - f. Bodexpress x Seeking the Ghost went for $3,000 and she actually has a good female family (Pomeroy, Contested, Mosler all under her second dam), and is very pretty
Image

Hip 199 - f. Stay Thirsty x Reign went for $4,000 and she's another pretty one.
Image

Hip 186 - c. Smokem x Pay the Cutie went for $3,000 and he's so cute.

I'm a big fan of the Bodexpress/Seeking the Ghost yearling and the Honor A.P. one.

I also noticed how great the Dads Caps look. I would want the one o/o Assyria.
