Does anyone have any contact with whoever is in charge of the bloodlines.net website? I've tried many times to contact them but it just gets kicked back as undeliverable. I had access to the database at one point and it was useful for searches, but now it's either gone or I'm blocked from access. Probably the latter, since I was pretty much persona non grata with them most of the time - they got really huffy about me making Scandinavian & Swiss classic histories public. Frankly, I'd like to remove what I've put there because they didn't want it anyway.

Miesque will have to answer this for sure because its been alongtime since I went to this site but I believe at one point it had a pedigreequery type database. I can't see that anywhere unless I'm missing it.

Is it the same website for the database - https://www.bloodlines.net/navigator/search.php? Because I just get 'page not found'.

Tried with VPN. Tried every kind of browser. I just can't get in. The site comes up as 'URL not found'. Frankly, I think they've just blocked me out for good, and there's no way to contact them. Why they have a 'contact us' at the website is a mystery.

i get a page not found for that one, so the website was very likely deleted

I think the database link is just gone. Some stakes histories (Kentucky Derby/Oaks) have been updated, so someone has access. Just not non site managers. But it does irk me.

Speaking of pedigreequery, I had an account on the message board but forgot my password. Tried to reset it and nothing ever happened--no response to a reset request. Not sure who is in charge there, either. I'm about to turn into a Karen. "I want to speak with a manager!" ;)

I have NEVER been able to get an account on the pedigreequery forum. I do exactly what it says and no one has ever okay'd my account.

I used to have an account there. I don't think anyone monitors the forum any more, but I had the same username there as I do here and that username apparently doesn't work but when I try to get a new password, it tells me the account doesn't exist. Ohferdum, I say. I lost the password when Firefox updated and helpfully erased all my bookmarks and most of my passwords. Yeah. Thanks, Firefox. I have a garbled and disorderly password book now because of that. Better than nothing, I guess.

It's sad that no one at bloodlines.net will respond to pleas for help at getting logged in. They either ignore the email completely or it just bounces back, so either they don't care or the email is invalid.

Rather annoyed. I was able to use that site to search for more obscure pedigrees. :(

Totally giving up on bloodlines.net database. They won't respond. Either they really don't care or they're not getting my emails of pleas for help. I wish they would delete the stuff I researched, since they didn't want it - I don't have a library full of GSBs and thus my research was trash.

A pox on them all.

Bitter? Yes. They threw me out without so much as a notification. Done. Good riddance.

My faith in humanity has been restored. Someone from bloodlines.net contacted me via PQ and hopefully I'll be back in business. After 2 years, I was justifiably bewildered and miffed. Some kind of server change occurred and logins didn't transfer. So hopefully in the next day or so I'll be back in there. Maybe I'll put in my Kenya stuff.

Oh, by the way, this year, a South African-bred filly named Honeybell Orange won the Kenya Derby, Kenya St. Leger, Kenya Fillies Guineas and Kenya Oaks. A colt named Saint Moritz won the Kenya Guineas, but I can't remember if Honeybell Orange was in that race (I don't think she was, as at some point the caller said she was unbeaten). They're all on YouTube. Tiny fields. Yeah, maybe not world class racing at Ngong Racecourse in Nairobi, but a Triple Crown is a Triple Crown.

Yes, I was a little surprised myself. I have the names of all of Kenya's Triple Crown race winners, but some of the pedigrees are aggravatingly elusive. I would be hard pressed to say the horses competing there are the best to be found, but in the past few years, South African-breds having been dominating. So... maybe a lift in quality? I don't know. I'm not qualified to judge on the matter. I just collect the names and see what I can find about them. At least if it's a SA-bred, I can find the pedigree.

What made me know there was/is racing in Kenya was because of Beryl Markham having trained a filly named Wise Child to win the 1926 Kenya St. Leger. I think the story is in one of her books - maybe Into the West.

Interesting mare here, imported to Kenya, dam of 5 classic winners:

BELINDA II(GB), b. 1965 (Sunny Way(GB)-Bravura III(GB), by Tudor Minstrel(IRE) #14b
• Beau Burn(KEN), ch.g. 1976 (Heartburn II(GB) – Kenya Derby
• Belmo(KEN), b.g. 1973 (Moby Dick(KEN) – Kenya Derby
• Desire(KEN), ch.f. 1971 (High Peak(GB) – Kenya Oaks
• Endeavour(KEN), ch.g. 1972 (Amber Glass(GB) - Kenya Guineas
• PRETTY WITCH(KEN), ch.f. 1977 (Dobrush(ITY) - Kenya Guineas, Kenya Derby, Kenya St. Leger
