I know...still can’t believe it. I wonder if his fillies will sell particularly well...

I’m surprise the War Fronts haven’t sold well on 1st day…
- hip 36 WF x Agreeable Miss, sold for $250k
- hip 88WF x Deceptive Vision, sold for $180k
He’s my favorite stallion so I hope he succeeds but I feel like the ‘rose is off the bloom’ for him after coolmore removed their mares from his service. And he hasn’t had a big horse this season. Any thoughts?

I was watching that and having the same thoughts. I don't recall seeing any big Coolmare mares gone to him lately either.PersonalE wrote: ↑Tue Aug 10, 2021 1:43 pm I’m surprise the War Fronts haven’t sold well on 1st day…

Anyone have his list for this year?

I think Coolmore pretty much stopped using War Front around the time Justify went to stud and sent the mares to him instead. But they also started using Dubawi more and more (especially this year with Galileo passing and I'm assuming missing a good portion of the season, him and Frankel got a lot of the mares that Galileo normally did) and have added Wootton Bassett to their stallion ranks, whom they are also supporting.

His yearlings didn't sell exceptionally well last year either. He only had one that barely broke $1 million.PersonalE wrote: ↑Tue Aug 10, 2021 1:43 pm I’m surprise the War Fronts haven’t sold well on 1st day…

His yearling average has been on a downward trend the past couple years. Probably because Coolmore isn't breeding or buying.

Yeah, this. I think once they had two outcross triple crown winners (moreso with Justify it seems) based in Kentucky that they needed to get off the ground, and their patched relationship with Godolphin/Darley happened to coincide with Dubawi going into the stratosphere as a stallion, and their willingness to send mares to Japan... it was the perfect storm of backing off of War Front as a stallion. I do wonder if they still own their shares in War Front, as I know they were keen to snap up any that came up for sale for a few years there.Flanders wrote: ↑Tue Aug 10, 2021 7:54 pmIts pretty spread through the 2021 matings but quite a few start here: viewtopic.php?p=248780#p248780.Retrospectiv wrote: ↑Tue Aug 10, 2021 2:43 pmI was watching that and having the same thoughts. As of now there are only a couple two year olds by War Front at Ballydoyle, out of Butterflies, Lady Eli, Ballydoyle, Gagnoa, Good Vibes, Coin Broker, and Misty for Me.
