Americain gets steady numbers at Swettenham Stud in Australia. Think he was around 60 mares last season and his progeny are starting to get wins now

Considering that most of the best modern stayers in Australia/winners of the Melbourne Cup are bred and/or trained in Europe, I feel like staying stallions are up against it even in Australia, where the most prestigious long distance race is held. They breed for speed. They import for stamina.

Agreed that is why New Zealand horses have traditionally done so well there but a horse like Americain can find his niche or at least serve more than 9 mares in Aus!

Darley announce 2019 stud fees
Brazen Beau will remain in Victoria this season with Darley announcing on Tuesday that the hot young stallion will headline its Northwood Park stallion roster for 2019.

The sire of Tassort, Accession and Sartorial Splendour will stand for $49,500 off the back of an incredible sales run during which his progeny sold for up to $1.15 million.

Frosted ($27,500), Street Boss ($27,500) and Impending ($22,000) will also stand in Victoria this season.

Proven stars Exceed And Excel ($88,000) and Lonhro ($77,000) again share top billing at Darley's Kelvinside operation in New South Wales.

Exceed And Excel has continued his reign as the nation's premier sire of two-year-old Stakes winners via the deeds of recent Inglis Sires' winner Microphone, while Lonhro underlined his versatility this season with his progeny winning a Blue Diamond Stakes (Lyre) and a VRC Oaks (Aristia).

New additions to the Kelvinside roster include record-breaking European sprinter Harry Angel ($22,000) and Randwick Guineas winner Kementari ($33,000).

And Sidestep, who sired Golden Slipper winner Kiamichi, will stand at Queensland's Telemon Stud for $22,000, up from $7700 in 2018.

Going through old threads.

Requinto was sold to Allevamento il Grifone in Italy.

Finally! In all seriousness, I will him well there. He's still on the Coolmore website but I'm sure they're focused on some bigger issues right now.
