This is an odd request and may be in the wrong place, so I apologize. I only just identified one of our beloved lesson horses after many years of searching and trying to decipher his lip tattoo. Unfortunately we got the news just a few days after he passed away at 28. He was unraced, and never passed through auction, but we are hoping his original breeder will have more information (now that we have his official name and can do some more digging!). However, he's sired by Oh Say (Hoist the Flag) but I cannot for the life of me find a single photo. I would love to see any pictures of his sire, just to see how similar the two were.

Would also love pictures of his damsire, Salem (Cyane -- Witching Hour) if anyone has some.

I think I have a Mid-Atlantic Thorughbred Stallion Register from the 80s that may have Oh Say’s photo. I’ll look for it when I get home.

I’m sorry about your loss.

I have boxes of old Thoroughbred Records and Blood Horses from the 70's and 80's. But they are in storage and not easy to get to.

You could contact the Keeneland Library and I am sure they would be able to help you with your request. I have used them many times for research related topics and they have always come through. They are a wonderful resource.

According to pedigreequery.com, his damsire is Cyane, not Salem. https://www.pedigreequery.com/oh+say

Not a great video but since its a racing video from 1971 it isn't bad.
Salem finishing 3rd in the 1971 Withers to Bold Reasoning (the sire of Seattle Slew).

Thanks everyone! These photos are great. I can really see Kenny (our old lesson horse, registered Wild Colonial Boy) in the head. Same big white star as Oh Say. Very much appreciated. :)
