Casse has said Tepin is likely to be withdrawn, as the owner would like to race her next year.

There are some really good mares on that list...I wonder how many are going to get scooped up by Japanese buyers?
IMHO, Miss Temple City, Reneesgotzip and Stephanie's Kitten would be excellent additions to anyone's broodmare band.

Why would Ramsey sell Steph's Kitten? I thought he had his own broadmare band.

She RNA'd last year at $3.95 mil. Try, try again?

Maybe he doesn't need a Kitten's Joy mare (since he owns the stallion) as much as he'd like the $,$$$,$$$ to buy several good mares that cross with the stallions he has?

Bills to pay. He's got a massive operation to feed financially, both breeding and racing, and sometimes you need to sell an asset to monetize latent value into cash.

He's selling the dam (Unfold the Rose) as well.

I'm annoyed they can't even name the bernardini X BTH filly (selling as a broodmare perspective, iirc)before they sell her. She must just be that hot a mess that they don't want to spend the money to even name her.

Interested to see where Jack Milton goes. How many folks are clammoring for a turf miling War Front stallion (in this country)?

He no longer owns that mare.

He seems to sell his high profile racing mares. He sold Precious Kitten too. He keeps a sister or half sister to the exceptional runner, one that wasn't very good on the racetrack. For example, he has Last Kitten, a full sister to Precious Kitten, and two full sisters to Stephanie's Kitten in his broodmare band, Be My Kitten and Lady Kitten.
His broodmare band is a lot of low level mares. Ramsey Farm posts photos of their foals, on Facebook, within a day of them being born. He has a lot of mares that I never heard of before.

This is what he said last year after she RNA'd
“We’re going to race her and probably sell her next year after she wins the Eclipse Award,” Ken Ramsey confirmed.
Still smarting over Stephanie’s Kitten’s futile attempt to catch the freewheeling Dayatthespa, Ramsey added, “I can tell you one thing about her for sure, she will never race again without a rabbit. I will not let one gallop around to the head of the stretch and sprint home again without somebody softening them up a bit. So that’s the plan for next year.”

Of the mare’s reserve, Ramsey said. “We would have taken $4 million for her. That was the cutoff. We said we’d be happy if we sold her for $4 million and if she doesn’t sell for $4 million, we’re still happy. There are no tears in my eyes, no regrets. I’m just bitterly disappointed that we didn’t win the big race Saturday.”

Ramsey likes to buy or claim cheap mares that fit Kitten's Joy. He also has plenty of Kitten's Joy daughters, he keeps the less successful racers.

I don't think she's increased her value since last year as a broodmare prospect. She lost one young, producing year. What was her RNA amount last year? $3.95 million? I'd be surprised to see her reach that.
Her year hasn't been as good as Tepin, who is definitely the leader of the division currently. Stephanie needs to win the BC to get that award.
