He fell. They thought he was gone. He got up.

Reports are saying he had a “bleeding attack”, suffered a pulmonary hemorrhage, bled a lot.

I just don’t understand how he survived. Was hoping someone could explain!

I saw his fall in real time while watching the race...and I thought for sure the horse had broken a leg, and maybe died from the violence of the fall, perhaps of a broken neck. He went head over heels, and hit the track hard on his side. The head flopped flat on the track. It looked bad.
Horses can be either surprisingly fragile, or amazingly tough. Think About It is one of the amazing ones.
Since he survived the fall with apparently no serious injuries, I hope the complete video of that race will eventually be available. It is one of those I-can't-believe-that-happened incidents.

Watching the video, I am shocked he survived. It looked like he had a heart attack Glad that he is okay though!
