Resorts World couldn’t have done this on Monday?

Tomorrow could be affected as well

Clearly, whoever was making the decisions on the timing of this has never been downwind of a roof being coated.
Thoughtless, stupid, clueless? Sadistic?
All of the above?
Good grief.

It would've been fun to have a day at the races without stewards, seems they were the only affected by it.
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

The fumes might have helped. At least their eyes watering would give them an excuse.

All around? How's that?

A guy is crossing the street and gets run down by a car, do you also then say "poor planning all around?"

OZONE PARK, N.Y. — Following a one-day cancellation of live racing due to unsafe air quality at the upper levels of Aqueduct live racing resumed Saturday, but not all operations resumed as normal.

The people most impacted by the unhealthy air quality on Friday – the stewards, the track announcer, the teletimer operator, placing judges, and Equibase personnel – did not return to their typical posts Saturday and instead were relocated to other parts of the building.

Track announcer Chris Griffin called the races from the set of Talking Horses on the first floor. Other officials, including the stewards, were relocated to the tote room, the stewards’ office on the main floor as well as in a private room on the second-floor horsemen’s lounge over the looking the paddock and finish line.

Did he look both ways? Was he jaywalking? I’ll have to admit, I was far more occupied with the anticipation of Game 5 between the Dodgers and Padres to handicap at any track yesterday so I was unaffected. What was the logical reason that this was not done on a Monday or Tuesday or when there was racing at Saratoga? Was this a jerry rigged situation to buy some time since that roof is liable to not be necessary in a couple of years? I freely admit to being ignorant about the situation at hand but figure a big entity like NYRA doesn’t do this stuff on a whim. What is the actual reason for the timing?

The work was done by Resorts World, not NYRA, information that was well documented. I get that the truth is no longer relevant, but I'm not giving up hope that one day it makes a comeback.
