He will not be in the Classic this year. He is nearing his first work since coming 5th in the G1 Met Mile.

The horse hasn’t raced since June and hasn’t worked in ages. I would hope he wasn’t being considered for the BC Classic.othybat_99 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2024 6:52 pm He will not be in the Classic this year. He is nearing his first work since coming 5th in the G1 Met Mile.

Yeah, I wonder what SAJ will do with him again, unless he retires.Curtis wrote: ↑Wed Sep 18, 2024 11:20 amThe horse hasn’t raced since June and hasn’t worked in ages. He doesn’t really have any stallion appeal, and his connections can definitely make strange decisions, so I would be surprised if he was retired.
I mean, the day they announced that the horse was transferred to Joseph (two days after the Met Mile flop), they said that his next run would be the Nerud. Didn’t really seem like they actually looked into the poor Met performance before changing trainers and making a new summer plan.

My guess would be a prep of some sort and then the Pegasus. After that? I would hope they let the horse dictate. Given he has performed well at Gulfstream in the past, I would think the Pegasus has to be at least a rough goal.Northport wrote: ↑Wed Sep 18, 2024 6:11 pm He doesn’t really have any stallion appeal, and his connections can definitely make strange decisions, so I would be surprised if he was retired.

“The Breeders’ Cup Classic is not in our plans,” Cornett told TDN’s Bill Finley, adding, “We want to get a good race in him off this layoff.”
Cornett said he will consider racing White Abarrio next at Gulfstream Park, perhaps in the Harlan’s Holiday (G3) on Dec. 21 or the Pegasus World Cup Invitational (G1) on Jan. 25.

I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

Just curious but what is the expected audience for an article like this? The horse hasn’t race since June and hasn’t had a work since Hector was a pup. Is it necessary to report that he won’t be ready for a 10f G1 race in a little over 6 weeks?stark wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2024 2:02 pm “The Breeders’ Cup Classic is not in our plans,” Cornett told TDN’s Bill Finley, adding, “We want to get a good race in him off this layoff.”
