Frankie Dettori will be back to riding Sunday at the Belmont at the Big A meet, 10 days after he suffered a separated shoulder in a gate accident at Aqueduct.
“Dr. Steve O’Brien has released him to start on Sunday,” Dettori’s agent Ron Andersen said Tuesday, confirming the story first reported by Daily Racing Form.

Good to hear. I was afraid this gate incident was going to put the final pin (insert joke about pins holding Frankie together) in his long career. He has been riding well, so I hope his retirement can be put off....and not have it forced on him by injury. Not that that doesn't happen to riders all the time.
