Part of that moniker is the big sandy and wide sweeping turns at Belmont and doing it at 12F.

None of which applies to a shortened race on the completely diff. SAR track however.
Actually Saratoga is the "Graveyard of Favorites." See Man o' War, Secretariat, American Pharoah, et al.

I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

Um. Saratoga is the Graveyard of Favorites, not Belmont.

Mystik Dan won the Derby and was second in the Preakness by 2 lengths. He's as of right now, the fourth choice. I feel like he's the most disrespected triple crown participant I've seen in my time watching the races. Anything similar anyone can recall?

What did Rich Strike go off at in his Belmont? I didn’t like him whatsoever that day so I guess I was part of the problem. I really don’t remember but I thought he would be really lucky to hit the board. At any rate, he’s my nominee.

I think he's third-favorite in most of the horizontals, but yes it's pretty crazy. Horse has done nothing wrong and was no more than a length worse than Sierra Leone in the Derby. I totally understand why Sierra Leone is favored, but there really shouldn't be that much of a difference between them.

Of course, they'll all be running for second behind Resilience ;)

4-1, which was pretty fair. People only really soured on him after the TC, even though he ran pretty well. Here we have a horse who ran a perfectly respectable Preakness to back up his Derby, boasts the best figures in the field, and still is taking less money than a horse with two starts. Pretty wild.

Being that it’s such an open race, I don’t think Mystik Dan is being dismissed. I’m pretty surprised he’s even in today. I’m glad he is but he looked a little bit flat to me late in the Preakness. Being a lifelong teetotaler, I went with The Wine Steward.

Im honestly surprised but I suppose Mindframe's speed figures are impressing people but Mystik Dan does deserve more respect than he is getting. For a speed favoring track, this could be a good day for Dornoch if STG misses the break and Dornoch gets a lone lead.

Yeah I don't think 10f is his favorite distance, but if you assume Seize the Grey takes some pressure and Dan tucks in behind, he could get a better trip this time around and put some distance on the closers at the top of the stretch. But I think it's fair to expect he won't be as good in here, and Mike Welsch didn't love his last work. Would love it if Dan won, but I see him fading a bit late for 3rd/ 4th.

Went with Resilience/ Sierra Leone over Dan and Honor Marie, with Protective as a crazy longshot. I'm expecting the pace to come back a little bit, so if it holds... I lose.

Looking forward to a good one!

Okay, maybe speed IS good today, lol. Can't believe that horse won that race, and he really earned it. Not like the other speed stuck around.

Mindframe might very well be a monster, huge effort for his third start. Sierra Leone a big move, but did drift in once again in the stretch. That just isn't going to change.

Honor Marie slammed at the start again, ran well for fourth. Resilience absolutely dropped anchor on the turn, hope he's okay. Not today for Dan, alas.

I cant believe Dornoch was 17-1 with a speed favoring track. He is a full brother to Mage, I knew he could get 10f. Yay for me though and my bet on him

I thought Mindframe was gonna get him there at the end, but Dornach is pretty tough, he ran somewhat similar when I saw him in the Fountain of the Youth, got collared and said, yeah no :D He looked so good in post parade I put a $2 win bet on him (not much but I'm happy!)

Isn’t the actual term “Graveyard of Champions”?
