Maybe he’ll be around longer to enjoy!BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 29, 2024 4:30 pm Very cool name and nice pedigree.
Too bad he's a gelding.

And with the Belmont Stakes being shorter this year... maybe even in the Belmont Stakes though imagine if Nysos romps in both Guess I should wait to see how Fierceness does in the Holy Bull first

Mystik Dan takes the Southwest, splashing home by many lengths, with Just Steel 2nd, Liberal Arts 3rd. If the Derby ends up sloppy again, MD may love it.

Hades wins the Holy Bull after going wire to wire and managed to put away Fierceness and a bunch of others breathing down his neck. Domestic Product was 2nd and Fierceness finished 3rd.
Also Fierceness must be rather small, he looked so tiny next to Hades and Domestic Product.

Agree - I noticed Hades’ rump was much bigger and better muscled than Fierceness’. Top two ran very well- disappointing race for Fierceness who appeared a bit lethargic before the race. Nysos ran really well again.CoronadosQuest wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 6:56 pm Hades wins the Holy Bull after going wire to wire and managed to put away Fierceness and a bunch of others breathing down his neck. To be honest, in person in the walking ring Hades looked small and sweaty first go round but more relaxed 2nd time around, Domestic Product would of won the pretty pony award but First World War in the Kittens Joy was the handsomest 3 year old on the day. I thought Fierceness looked a little bigger and muscular than the others, but happily surprised to see the 1, 6 finish.CoronadosQuest wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 6:56 pm Hades wins the Holy Bull after going wire to wire and managed to put away Fierceness and a bunch of others breathing down his neck. Maybe I will root for Hades if he makes it to Churchill. I am so disenchanted with CDI (killing tracks like Arlington & Calder, its spiteful vendetta against Baffert, the day it refused Ron Turcotte a special pass, etc.), that having a gelding win the race that CDI wants to promote as the most important stallion-maker would make me smile.

South Florida is my home, and yes, would be happy to see Hades win it for same reasons - the Summer meet at Calder was always fun and special in it's own way (Gulfstream has ruined what was once the 'Summit of Speed'). In a passive aggressive way am happy that the Seminole's got the right to sportsbook betting, Calder has nice casino but won't cry if they get buried.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 9:39 pm Maybe I will root for Hades if he makes it to Churchill.
