What's the difference between "Amusing Names" and "Clever Names"?

Thanks, just curious.
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

I really don’t know but I’m guessing that “Clever Names” utilize the sire and dam name in a clever manner. “Amusing Names” are no more than that. I think this thread gets a lot of play on Tuesdays and Wednesday as opposed to the rest of the week. However, these days, Tuesday is like Saturday.

Just silly enough to be amusing, 4yo filly Pharoah Fawcett (American Pharoah - Stormy Bear, by Storm Cat) makes her debut at Aqueduct on Friday (2/19/21) in Race 1. I hope she's pretty ! Linda Rice trainee.

Flavian Prat's 1,000th North American winner is Clockstrikestwelve (New Year's Day x Timezone).

An actually good run-on name.

Can't top that one. Amusing for sure, but probably belongs in the Clever names thread.

I wonder if that breeding match made sense or the mare's owner just couldn't resist!
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

What if they repeat that breeding (Redwood-Aus to Redwood-GB) in some other country -- say, Brazil -- and the foal is dropped there. Could it be also be named Redwood?

Not sure if it will be a 2yr old or Yearling. How I loved Mary Lou Whitney.
