The Arabian cross I usually rode when I took lessons was white, and there was a few times I had to ride another horse because the Arabian had a sunburn. This was despite measures being taken to prevent this of course. Nothing was too severe, though. I miss him.

I like the dots around this guy's eye, too.

In dogs, extreme white of this type is physiologically related to hearing (and sometimes vision) abnormalities, as the nervous system and pigment are derived from the same neural crest cells early in gestation.

It's why there will often be spots of pigment near the ears, base of tail, around the eye. The organism is doing its best to complete the formation of these essential sensory organs, and thus a few cells of pigment will be clustered in those areas.

Amanta Bianco was a sharp debut winner. I wonder where we will see him next.

Maybe the owners realized not everything has to go to the shed

Macadamia, a 4yo full sister to King of Steel, won an allowance yesterday at Horseshoe Indianapolis. She is still owned by their breeder, Bonne Chance. I’d guess they will want to keep her as a replacement for their late dam Eldacar, but it will be interesting to see if someone makes an offer for her they can’t refuse.

I wasn't aware his full sister was in the States. King of Steel is a really nice colt and a smashing winner today at Ascot so yes I imagine there are offers for her.

Same name as a very well-known chaser in the UK https://www.pedigreequery.com/hunt+ball2 I guess that's a good sign? Him and the much-touted Irish 2yo named Warm Spell will be confusing to me lol.

Well-bred filly Playback makes debut at Ellis
https://www.drf.com/news/well-bred-fill ... ebut-ellis
Playback, the first foal out of Breeders’ Cup Distaff winner Blue Prize, makes her debut on Friday at Ellis Park. The $120,000 maiden special weight for 2-year-old fillies has drawn a full field of 12, plus an also-eligible.

Playback, by leading sire Into Mischief, will race as a homebred for Larry Best’s OXO Equine, which bought Blue Prize for $5 million out of the 2019 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky fall selected mixed sale. The mare was a Group 1 winner in her native Argentina before winning six graded stakes in the United States, including the 2019 Distaff and two editions of the Grade 1 Spinster at Keeneland.

Playback is coming off a bullet five-furlong work at the Thoroughbred Center for Paulo Lobo.

Their relative Fancy (Justify 1/2 sister to their dam, America) is in R2 at Ellis on Saturday, along with Pumpkin Scone (Into Mischief/Embellish the Lace).
