As much as I love a good rags-to-riches story, I also love when hugely expensive mares go on to actually justify their sales price (or at least produce something noteworthy).

Wow. Really impressive. :o
I love Galileo over Scat Daddy, a combination that seems to reliably produce speed.

Alejandro (2018 Curlin x Rachel’s Valentina) was sold for $95k at the Keeneland April sale. A little surprised Stonestreet offered him.

They don't keep studs really so I'm not surprised who did he sell too

They do frequently retain interests in stallions (Jess’s Dream, Curlin, Good Magic, Kantharos, Maclean’s Music, Union Jackson before he was gelded etc)
He sold to Clark O. Brewster. Recently published a work at Oaklawn.

They also have interests in Charlatan, Beau Liam, and Ghostzapper, after he moved to Hill N Dale.

I think Alejandro's work at Oaklawn was before the sale. I wonder if Asmussen told Brewster to buy Alejandro, since he also trains for him. Nice for the horse that he gets to stay with the same barn.

They had an interest in Ghostzapper before Hill n Dale, pretty much right from the start of his stallion career.

“ Ghostzapper made only a single start in 2005, an impressive victory in the Metropolitan Handicap, and a breeding interest in both Ghostzapper and his sire were acquired by the late Jess Jackson's Stonestreet Farm.”

So does that mean they bought an ownership interest? Maybe I haven't checked their site enough but they don't list other stallions they have breeding interests in and they would have shares in other stallions. All the stallions that are listed they raced themselves or in partnership, except Ghostzapper.

Thanks for the heads-up. She's certainly bred to be a good one.

You can't go wrong with Better Than Honour in your pedigree if you want to run in the Belmont. 8-)

Military Order (Frankel - Anna Salai) won the Lingfield Derby Trial today. He is a full brother to 2021 Epsom Derby winner Adayar.

ETA: it’s been more than a century since full brothers won the Derby.

Caramel Swirl won the G3 Vagrancy Stakes easy as she pleased on Sunday. She came from the back of the pack to win by a couple of lengths. By Union Rags o/o Caramel Snap, her dam is a half-sister to Frosted and Indulgent, and her second dam is half to Midshipman!
