This might not be completely related to this thread (admin remove it if it shouldn't be here at all) , but I did mention that Q B One is being retrained as a pleasure horse; would it be impossible to find out where exactly he is right now? I didn't get any names of the new owners from Spendthrift, all I know is that he is "thriving" in his new home.

Wood Memorial winner Lord Miles’ dam Lady Esme is a half-sister to champion Caledonia Road and MGSW Officiating. They’re from the family of the blind Alydar mare Begum, a major producer for Mill Ridge.

Preempt starts her career at her family’s favorite track in Wednesday’s third race, a $100,000 maiden special weight for fillies and mares sprinting on the main track. Preempt, by Arrogate, is out of Centre Court, a Grade 1 winner on the Keeneland turf who went on to produce local Grade 3 winner Navratilova. Both were homebreds for G. Watts Humphrey and trained by Rusty Arnold, the same connections as Preempt.

The morning-line favorite is Amaretti, a Bernardini homebred for Godolphin and trainer Bill Mott. The filly is a half-sister to Keeneland Grade 2 winner Caramel Swirl and from the immediate family of champion Midshipman and Grade 1 winner Frosted.

The second dam of Irish Grand National winner I Am Maximus is a half-sister to Unbridled and Cahill Road with the awful name of Ganasheba (Alysheba - Gana Facil).

Always enjoy when there is an article written about Begum. Alice Chandler took a big risk not having her put down as a foal and Begum repaid that kindness in spades.

Not surprised - Amaretti ran a corker in her debut; I’ve been waiting for her for a long time....what a nice filly

Bobbie D (Dark Angel - Rosa Bonheur) is available at New Vocations.

He is a full-brother to Raging Bull and a very pretty gray.

Yay! Hopefully it's the first of many wins for him.
I hope so, too! :D
And I have now just realized that Letruska(USA) is a close relative to Proud Spell(USA).
I didn't realize that, either. I had to look it up to see, her 3rd dam is Proud Spell's 2nd dam.
Ask Duramente(JPN), 2019C. Duramente(JPN) x Proud Spell(USA), scored his second win in style off a 13 months layoff due to injury going 1800m dirt at Hanshin 12R on April 15th 2023.

Scylla (Tapit x Close Hatches), full sister to Tacitus, just won the the 6th at Keeneland in impressive fashion. The Mott-trained bay filly would seem bred to prefer longer, but she mowed down a nice field of 3yo fillies in this 6-furlong MSW on the dirt, and won going away.

I get that it’s related to her dam’s name, but why name a nice filly after a mythological sea monster?

Encountering a sea monster would prompt a ship to close hatches, no?

I've always enjoyed mythology(except the super incest parts, that was always gross). I like that her name is Scylla. When I saw her name, I was kind of hoping they'd name a future daughter of Close Hatches, Charybdis but there is a 2yo Arizona bred filly already named that.
