Zarkallani (FR) (Invincible Spirit x Zarkava) finished 9th of 10 in a maiden special weight hurdle at Colonial Downs on Monday.
The winner of that race was Ancient Times (Carpe Diem x Courtly Choice), a 1/2 brother to G1 winner Wild Dude.
In second place was Awakened (Curlin x Daydreaming), a 1/2 brother to G1 winner Imagining.
In third place was Quid (English Channel x Gold Mitten), whose pedigree on her dam's side may not be recognizable but is from a classic female family of American jumps horses. Dam Gold Mitten is a hurdle stakes winner and full sister to 2x Middleburg Hunt Cup winner Gold Quoit; the family also produced 2x American Grand National winner Deux Coup.

Trivia time.....
Who trained Desert Stormer in her final race, a win in the Breeders Cup Sprint?
(no cheating allowed )
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

All I know is that my brother had a $10 to win bet on Da Hoss and Jerry Bailey. Nice job.

By far and away Da Hoss's worst race of his career, not often you see Jerry Bailey suck up last.WarBiscuit wrote: ↑Wed Jul 13, 2022 5:13 pmAll I know is that my brother had a $10 to win bet on Da Hoss and Jerry Bailey. Nice job.

Wasn't she trained by the English guy that used to be on TVG? Frank something? I just can't pull the last name up in my aging brain!

Yes, that's it. And Ooops......sorry! Maybe Aussie? I don't know. I just remember that he spoke with one of the "British" sounding accents. To be honest, I've never been a regular TVG watcher, so I never heard enough of him to tell.

Irish Oaks (G1) winner Magic Lagoon (Galileo - Night Lagoon) is a half to MG1W Novellist. Night Lagoon was a 2yo champion in Germany. Toy was second; she is by Galileo out of You’resothrilling, a full sister to Giant’s Causeway. You’resothrilling has produced G1 winners Marvellous, Gleneagles, Happily, and Joan Of Arc. All eight of her runners (all by Galileo) have won or placed at the G1 level; six are GSWs.
