He seems to be improving...love it, as I adore his dam, and any Bernardini mare

2yo Lost Ark (Violence - Marion Ravenwood), a half-brother to Nest and Idol, debuts in BEL R1.

ETA: he won by 5. Nice looking colt, but a bit of an egg-beater.

Gilded Age (MdO x Angela Renee [Bernardini]) just won the 9th at Churchill, a 1 1/8-mile AOC for 3yo. Showed great turn-of-foot to catch Brigadier General at the wire and win by a head.

The Manila at Belmont has some notable pedigrees: Coinage (Tapit x Bar of Gold), Smokin' T (War Front x Wine Princess) and Annapolis (War Front x My Miss Sophia).
ETA: Annapolis wins.

Gulfport ran away with the Bashford Manor at Churchill by a dozen lengths. He's a grandson of G1W Stop Traffic by Uncle Mo.

Cody's Wish won the Hanshin, also at Churchill. He's a son of G1Ws Curlin and Dance Card.

Sidekick. Code of Honor’s half brother by Honor Code, makes his second start at Belmont on Friday, at 1 mile. He ran very well in his sprint debut - can’t wait to see him stretch out!

*I like the name a lot, but I would have preferred a name like Confusion, which plays on the Honor Code/Code of Honor thing 😂

Stellar Wind’s first runner, the 2yo Galileo filly A Moment Like This, debuts in Leopardstown R1 today. Owned by Magnier et al but trained by Donnacha instead of Aiden, who has a couple of nicely-bred fillies in the race as well.

Stellar Wind has a 3 y/o by Galileo named Georges Seurat that hasn't even worked AFAIK.

Stellar Wind (something from stars) crossed with Galileo (astronomer)...and they name him after a painter that just painted landscapes.

I admit that I am really getting tired of the Coolmore names, and I get the sense that I'm not the only one. They're pretty much all historical figures, or sometimes places, like St Mark's Basilica or St Nicholas Abbey. Of course Galileo himself was an example of that. It's just that when he came on the scene, it hadn't yet become so ubiquitous for them.

To me, it just seems lazy. Maybe not as bad as Fipke, but it's still a laziness that shouldn't happen with an outfit like Coolmore! JMO!!

It works more often than it doesn't IMO. Dylan Thomas, Lillie Langtry, Stradivarius, Caravaggio, all have a nice ring to them. Just the last name works better than the full name though. And with those two parents they definitely should've gone with an astronomer name.

Sidekick (Honor Code x Reunited), Code of Honor's half bro, just finished 2nd in the 5th at Belmont, a 1-mile MSW for 3yo+up on the dirt. It was won by Winit (Tapit x I Like to Whim), but Sidekick did manage to gain on him coming down the stretch, and he should hopefully improve in his next race.

Sadly, I have to agree with Andy..he looked like he was going to win, then just didn’t do enough. The winner was drawing away, so Sidekick didn’t gain on him.

As a huge fan of HC, I’m trying never to get my hopes up anymore..this way, I’m not disappointed. I’m hugely high on Above Suspicion, but she’s the last one I’m going to have unbridled enthusiasm for
